First we had to go to Walgreens to get water-proof bandages for Payson and Ember from their injuries; I mentioned it in my last post Ember had been injured, but they were sprinting through a WalMart parking lot when they were with their dad and crashed into each other and fell on the road and were crazy beat up! Their scrapes were large and deep and filled with blood and puss and just really gnarly looking. I called the doctor the day I got them back to ask if I needed to bring them in for a cleaning or if I could do it at home with the right supplies, they gave me information about at-home wound care and told me what to look out for in case of infection. I also asked about water exposure and was told to keep the area totally dry after cleaning it up. So we went to buy a few extra supplies before swimming that day since the two of them were begging to go. I didn’t want the kids to go swimming with their injuries partly because you’re not supposed to go in pools with open injuries and partly because water, especially chlorinated, irritate injuries. We got some giant water-proof bandages that were $5 a piece to try out.
At home they all got swimsuits on and we tried the water-proof bandages. They seemed to work just okay. I thought the bandages wouldn’t hold up to swimming so Payson and Ember sat out of the pool, just dangling the lower half of their legs in the water. Ember brought a book to read and Payson brought the switch to play.
Over by where we take swimming lessons there is this really cool looking park that we pass by. I decided to google it and see if it was a public park (it was in the same parking lot as some apartments) and it is! So off we went to check it out!
The kids really, really miss our trampoline. Everett especially asks about getting a trampoline all the time and tells me he misses our old one. Hopefully someday in the future I can rent a house and get another one.
The weather was nice and the view was nice ♥
I keep a couple things of sunscreen in my bag and all summer we used it. I love the stick sunscreens that are like deodorant containers and glide right on!
Lyla especially loves having sunscreen put on!
The kids were excited about this water play area.
Laughing over throwing his shoes in the fountain.
Ember fell when she was at her dad’s and had this insane injury! I felt so bad for her. We cleaned it up and bandaged her up really well but it took a while to heal.
I was making breakfast and came into the living room to find this cute sight.
Ember had her favorite toys on the recliner and was quietly playing on her own. It was so cute, after she told me about what she was playing I grabbed my camera to take pictures. Times like this are my favorite memories ♥
For memory’s sake I added Ember’s toys’ names to this one. The names Fluff, Bumble (like a bee, says Ember), and Rose are ones she chose. The others came named 🙂
The kids funnily enough love my Golden Girls magnet set on the fridge. Lyla plays with it a lot. The Blanche magnet is her favorite. haha
Later in the day we needed to go grocery shopping so we stopped at Five Guys for lunch before doing that. It was really fun.
Today was Sierra, Payson, and Ember’s bring your own picnic and watch the kids perform event. They passed out awards, had all the grade levels perform songs, dances, poems, and play instruments, and also passed out the kids’ yearbooks to sign.
The school passed out popsicles.
I snapped a few pictures during the performances, they’re weird on the blog just because I blurred out everyone else’s faces. But my kiddos show. haha
After all the school kids performed it was time to get yearbooks and just hang out. The kids had fun playing around the school grounds.
Sierra and Ember showed me where their part of the school art projects were.
And then Sierra, Payson, and Ember showed me their art work in the building.
It was such a fun time. I had wished it was after school so Brooklyn could have been there but she didn’t mind missing it anyway she said. I missed her being there, though.
Here was a group shot I took before we went home. I love that the three kids who went to the school this last year have their yearbooks in hand 🙂
I spotted these kites at Costco (only $14.99) and bought two and as soon as the weather was right we took them out and oh my freaking gosh they are the BEST kites!!! I couldn’t believe how easy they were to set up, how pretty they were up in the air, and how fun they are! Just so much fun! We love spring!
My mom sent the birthday people a package! Allan, Brooklyn, and Ember got birthday gifts and Sierra, Payson, and Everett got a couple little treats, too. Everyone was thrilled that day!
My mom called to ask what I thought Ember would want and for the first time in a long time I knew exactly what a kid of mine would want. My kids usually like EVERYTHING so it’s easy to just say, “literally any toy that exists.” But Ember has been really wanting a baby that drinks and pees and I couldn’t find one in our local stores!! We have limited selection here in Post Falls but my mom found the perfect one! Ember was SO excited when she opened it!
Brooke immediately watched her movie, which she loved, and has used that flashlight a LOT. Like, a really lot.
Everett up and decided he wasn’t going to eat ever again this week. He’d scream bloody murder when I put him in a chair at the table or in his high chair. After literally not eating for a couple days and getting crankier and crankier and hungrier and hungrier I caved and gave him food while he watched cartoons. I don’t even care, if this works, I’m doing it.
