Going to See Toy Story 4!

I was 12 when the first Toy Story came out and I loved it. I’ve seen each movie since. We went on the opening day of Toy Story 3 back in 2010!

So when I heard about the fourth Toy Story of course I planned on going opening day! Unfortunately we couldn’t but we did go a few days later!

I actually didn’t even get that excited from the trailer, it didn’t look all that funny, weirdly enough. But my whole family was laughing the entire time! I hated the ending and my kids really hated the ending (Woody LEAVING his child?!?!) but whatever. It’s a movie. haha

Oh my gosh Forky: my kids were roaring with laughter.

After all that laughing and good endorphins my kids had so much energy. They wanted to run around and play outside the theater for a while before heading home.

They always want to have pictures here:048efbbblog059efbblog

We needed to go to Costco for some groceries and Lyla fell asleep on the drive over so I put her in the ergo while we shopped!

She woke up in the store and wanted to breastfeed before heading home!

It was such a great day! 🙂

Everett and Lyla’s Doctor Checkup!

I took the little two to the doctor and oh boy it didn’t go as I expected it to! I really thought it would be pretty smooth because Lyla didn’t need a lot of vaccinations and Everett usually LOVES the doctor and Lyla is becoming much more social lately.

Well. haha. Nope.

It was a challenge for a variety of reasons but mostly because Everett decided that he now hates the doctor’s office and didn’t want to be there. It was unexpected for me to have to struggle with him because usually he loves being at the doctor and having all that attention and talking about his health and body. I guess things have changed!

But, both kids are super healthy and I got an appointment with a specialist to talk about Everett’s hands and some other concerns about him (his teeth, his face structure, and his syndactyly of course!) so it’s looking like he might be getting his next surgery next year. I will find out in September.

Alright, and here are the pictures from the day.

Taking pictures with my new camera!

I got my camera a week or two ago and hadn’t had a chance to take it out to really shoot with it so when the weather finally warmed up to the 40s we went on a hike and I brought my new baby to test out!
(There’s a vlog at the end of this post, too!)

Sierra is the cutest ♥

Allan got to play with both my newish (the 80d was bought last year, that’s still pretty new to me!) cameras, too!

The lake looked so pretty in the bright sun!

Me in my natural habit doing my natural thing. haha! Man do I love hiking and do I super love taking pictures and filming videos! Seriously, this is my heaven. Well, I don’t even need a camera, nature makes me happy enough, but I sure do like my cameras! ♥

I don’t like to pester my big kids for pictures but they all wanted me to take lots of pictures of them this trip! They kept asking me for turns! It was pretty awesome. I mostly shot pictures of them just in nature but once in a while I said, “smile,” as well!

I love Payson so dang much!

Ember loved this spot she chose for her pictures and had a whole bunch of poses she wanted to do. She’s so awesome!

And finally, Brooke’s turn!

The light was so pretty and she was having so much fun I took quite a few.

Sierra found a tree that looked like it had a chair and had Allan film her on it and then asked me to take a picture. Brooklyn insisted on being in it, too!

Little wildflowers were starting to pop up! Yes, spring come soon!

Sierra, Payson, and Ember were really into looking at all the tiny little flowers popping up. It was so sweet.

Everett brought his Yoshis and carried them the whole way. He played with them here and there, too. I love his obsession 🙂

And the gorgeous lake!

Then it was time to head back!

I had Brooklyn take a picture of me and Allan. I love my kids having pictures of their parents together when we did family trips. I always wished I had pictures of my parents like this even though my parents got divorced. I have a couple now for the first time in 20 years and I treasure them.

Brooklyn and Sierra love getting to use all my cameras. They both love filming and Sierra loves taking pictures, too!

And here is the vlog!

My New Sweater, Rain Play, Sad Baby!

I’m really excited about my affordable Costco sweater. It’s the little things ♥

Checking the mail with my sick baby.

It was raining and Brooklyn and Sierra had fun out there!

Lyla was unhappy with me taking 2 minutes to snap those pictures of Brooklyn and Sierra without holding her.

Allan wasn’t around so I wore her in order to brush my teeth!

But she was not happy on my back.

Life with Sick Lyla

Laundry in the morning. I washed the new clothes we got from Costco!

Made breakfast while she fell asleep in the ergo.

Got Everett dressed while Lyla still napped.

She woke up and played at the window.

I had a snack.

Then we went outside.

Here are some of Allan’s pumpkins.

And unfortunately the corn died during an early freeze we had.

Everett loved looking at the veggies Allan and the other kids pulled.

Here he is happily showing off his playdoh. This kid LOVES playdoh!

There were some spiders and ladybugs on some of the vegetables!

The people who worked hard that day!

Poor Everett begs me to hold him all the time and I’m almost always holding Lyla instead. Since I was wearing her I could pick him up and he was really happy about that!

I’d noticed that Lyla was warm all day and took her temperature with a new thermometer since the kids broke my old one.

I tried it on myself first and she was happy when I did it on her next 🙂

With her slightly sick I didn’t want to go to the store but we were ouuuuut of food and needed to. Everett was extremely excited to go to WalMart for some reason! 🙂

That night I was up late with Lyla who was really cranky. I snapped these pictures before finally heading to bed.

It wasn’t long before I woke up… Lyla tossed and turned and cried and cried. I finally got up to just walk with her and rock her. She was burning up so I took her temperature again. It was 103. I don’t usually give my babies tylenol or motrin for fevers because I am a believer in letting fevers run their course but she was not sleeping at all and I knew that she’d get better faster if she could sleep more so I attempted to give her baby tylenol. Problem is Lyla throws up everything (even many foods!), when she gags on new tastes and sure enough- one drop of tylenol hit her tongue and she immediately projectile vomited!! Oh but it didn’t stop there! I had set off her barf alarm and she threw up twice more! She throws up so so so much when she doesn’t like a taste! I’d JUST nursed her for like five hours straight too so she was full of milk and there was a whooooole lot of vomit. Luckily it was mostly milk so it wasn’t really gross but unluckily it got all over her and me and the bed which meant baths for her and me and an entire load of bedding laundry!!
The GOOD news is her nighttime bath cooled her down significantly and she was able to sleep much better. So from 3am until 7am or so she slept decently well. She tossed and turned and I didn’t sleep much but she didn’t cry much and she got some good sleep.

Here’s a problem I ran into. I bought two new thermometers and they each give me totally different temperatures each time! The one below seems to be closest since it matches our regular body temperatures when we’re not sick so I use that to go by.

A hike, Safeway, and Harry Potter!

Allan is still on his hike with Kevin. Me and the kids went on our own hike this day. The weather was perfect and the kids were really excited to go. This was the first time I had Everett walk on one of our hikes!! He was really excited about that and was skipping a lot in that excitement. He is so freaking cute!
Lyla, on the other hand, was just getting over a virus and was teething and was miserable! She was miserable at home as well so it’s not like the hike caused her misery… she just was miserable that whole week no matter what. Poor baby!

We haven’t been back to this particular hike in ages because it’s a bit further of a drive from our house but it is so worth it. It’s one of my favorite places!

I gave the kids new packages of film for their instax cameras and they enjoyed taking their own pictures on the hike. Most of my pictures from this trip were taken because they wanted to stop to photograph things 🙂

They each have albums that are the right size for their photos and they label their photos and take good care of their albums. It’s so cute!

Payson didn’t have a bag with him so he handed me his pictures to keep safe in my bag.

My kids saw somewhere that some people keep their developing photos in a dark place so Payson takes that very seriously and keeps his pictures in his pocket to develop. Or at home he stick them in a drawer in the living room. I love his interest and attention to detail with things he cares about ♥

He was climbing on a fallen log and fell off. He didn’t get too hurt but was covered in dirt. Before dusting it off I snapped a picture to remember.

Trees are my love language. Thanks, God.

My kids all love nature. One of their very favorite things is playing on logs.

All three of the older girls were taking a picture of the same thing and I had them pause to let me take this of them before they took their photos.

My view looking down.

This spot was one where quite a few of the kids took a picture. With the sun coming from behind the trees they’d each pose over where Ember is and have me use their cameras to take a picture of them. I also took a few with my camera! 🙂

Ember asked me to take a lot of pictures of her on this log. She was pretending to fall off and then she wanted jumping off pictures. I’m only posting one but I have at least a dozen 😉

Everett was still happy and excited about the whole experience and skipping and jumping along the trail.

We were walking downhill at this point and the big kids kept running ahead of me and Everett. This was as they were passing me on the trail below. I do have a rule that they have to be in my sight during hikes. They can go ahead (as long as there aren’t cliffs) as long as I can see them at all times. The other main hiking rule is no running when we’re going up and down hills/mountains.

Having fun with his shadow.

Used this fence to sit my camera on and got a group shot!

We made it back to the parking lot.

On the way home we stopped at Safeway for a couple things. Produce mostly.

Payson was trying to get Lyla to look at him to take a picture. The girls helped out by making silly sounds and faces to get her attention.

Ember helped me push the cart.

I love fruit and vegetables in the summer! So yummy!

I don’t let my kids ride under the cart because their fingers are at risk but they love to climb under there when we stop and hope that I don’t notice. haha! Stinkers!

Lyla loves when I let her hold items we’re buying in the store. I’m recovering from my germophobic ways of not letting her hold anything that strangers might’ve touched. haha! She was really into this box of cereal!

Payson and Ember are my two kids who love to climb all over the cart while shopping. They spend at least half of our trips climbing on and being told to climb off. haha!

These two are best friends!

Lyla pulling stuff out of the basket to hold.

Every time we go to Safeway Everett stops to look at this display of toy cars and ask for one.

And every single time we go to the store at least one of my kids climbs on these and gets told to get.off.

Lyla loves my lens cap.

We got home and turned on the third Harry Potter movie and had popcorn!
