Started off with a lesson on maps and globes. My Father’s World had a couple of fun activities to do with food to show how maps and globes work to show the same thing but in different ways.
I had obviously done Everett’s for him. He loved it. And then here are the oranges cut and laid out to show what a flat version of a globe would look like. Why to-scale maps are shaped differently.
I didn’t cut Ember’s because she wanted to keep it and not eat it.
We also did another activity that day. In the teacher’s guide I think we were supposed to do these on different days but I had other things planned so we did this the same day.
It was drawing maps with frosting.
