It’s a huge shock to find out I’m pregnant.
I had mixed emotions about it all. I was excited for the chance to have one last baby but it’s a rough time
I’m suffering from the worst morning sickness I’ve ever experienced. Thanks baby #6! You’re making your place in the family known already!
Even in the midst of my pain and trauma I’m a good mom to baby, look at these pictures I took for him/her to have in the future. I even took one with Allan even though we’re splitting up.
Everett was super cranky that week. His ear infection looked better… but. Cranky. I held him virtually nonstop for 10 days!!
I went through a Cafe Rio phase clearly.
Everett develops a fever. He doesn’t have many other physical symptoms besides being super cranky, not letting me put him down for even one second, and being super sleepy. I manage to get him to sleep while breastfeeding and then slide him onto the couch sometimes. I rush around trying to do laundry or cook meals during those times.
I usually don’t treat fevers unless they’re causing serious issues like my kid won’t drink or sleep at all and I think the pain relief will help them do those things, which help them recover. But this time around day 5 Everett still had a 103 degree fever so we took him to the doctor. Allan was out of work for a doctor appointment of his own so he met us at the pediatrician.
The pediatrician diagnosed Everett with stomatitis and said baby tylenol would be great for him not because of the fever but for pain since that’s a really painful virus. Poor Everett! 🙁
So that night and the next day Everett became crankier than he had been. His fever didn’t go down and I worried about him. He kept pulling his legs up to his chest in his sleep and grabbing his ears and crying. We ended up in the ER.
It’s a good thing we’d gone because Everett had developed horrible infections in both his ears! We got antibiotics and added motrin to the regime.
My mom sent the birthday people a package! Allan, Brooklyn, and Ember got birthday gifts and Sierra, Payson, and Everett got a couple little treats, too. Everyone was thrilled that day!
My mom called to ask what I thought Ember would want and for the first time in a long time I knew exactly what a kid of mine would want. My kids usually like EVERYTHING so it’s easy to just say, “literally any toy that exists.” But Ember has been really wanting a baby that drinks and pees and I couldn’t find one in our local stores!! We have limited selection here in Post Falls but my mom found the perfect one! Ember was SO excited when she opened it!
Brooke immediately watched her movie, which she loved, and has used that flashlight a LOT. Like, a really lot.
