Ember loves getting up in your face. She loves to cuddle and snuggle and hug and kiss and be attached to whoever it is lucky enough to be receiving her affection that moment. These days most of that attention is heaped on Everett. Which, unfortunately for Ember, he doesn’t appreciate. He likes his space. He enjoys watching his siblings and listening to them but the second they touch him? Nuh uh!! Back off, bro! He will scream, he will cry, he will take both his hands and push you away as hard as his little almost-one year old muscles can!
Does this stop Ember?
Not a bit.
She wants to love on her brother.
Her brother wants her to back off.
And so there is much whining, crying, and complaining from both parties in my house. I do teach her… goodness gracious do I teach her, and she does do better but sometimes she fully reverts to her smothering ways.
On this day it wasn’t even enough that they were sharing a cart together (which, she LOVES) no, no, she needed Everett to lay against her in the cart!
I decided to snap a picture before fixing the situation (naturally Everett started screaming when she pulled him over) and even got Everett to smile for it!
It’s always a challenge to find something to give to the baby in order to keep him from crying. Everett is in a phase where he hates shopping. Now that he crawls he just wants down so he can explore the world!
