Since we had to leave yesterday before walking not even 100 yards, we came back to hike again today!
This time it was bright sun and warm weather. There were quite a few other hikers, too.
The view was cool. And a train came by right then which my kids loved. photo 035eresized_zpsd56bf908.jpg

So despite being careful (they were doing good since I’d told them to walk sloooowly on hikes) Ember took a spill. photo 038eresized_zps60173251.jpg

Because of her fall Ember was done. She wanted to go home and get a bandaid and wouldn’t have it any other way. So we took a couple pictures and headed back! We might go back tomorrow to try one last time! photo 039eresized_zps1f2657bb.jpg photo 048eresized_zpsefdddd48.jpg photo 050eresized_zpsd3cbeba1.jpg photo 055eresized_zps180e030e.jpg

Ember wouldn’t move one inch without me holding her. I tried to get her to just walk because I had Everett! She was crying and I know her well and she would have literally cried (or screamed!) the whole walk down. I finally decided to wear her and just hold Everett on the hike back down. FUN TIMES! Not. photo 065eresized_zpsd7b4d794.jpg photo 067eresized_zps9a4951a3.jpg photo 071eresized_zps02adf57c.jpg

  • Ember's face looks sooo sad! But I am surprise you don't look sad considering you are the one carrying her and Everett! You just can't win with kids. I so happy that you are able to get out and enjoy yourself my friend!!

  • I should have thought to ask you….! Do you have any good suggestions of places where Calvin and I could hike while we're in Colorado? We will be in Summit County. Maps show it being close to Breckenridge and Vail. We will have a rental car but probably won't want to stray TOO far from our cabin. I am hoping to find a pretty decently challenging hike with some great views. Have you been anywhere or heard of some place that would be fun?
