These pictures turned out wretched because the flag, trees, and bridge were all giving different color casts and I was too lazy to try harder in photoshop to fix them! They’ll print just fine, though.
Allan was talking about how our point and shoot camera captures pictures with such bold colors compared to dSLRs. I told him that was all in camera processing and that if I wanted I could set my dSLR’s settings to do the same. I changed some to snap a picture to show him. I told Ember to let me take her picture and this is what she did:
And then I told Allan how I don’t use those settings because I like raw images and with my camera sometimes things can look more orange than I like (I always have a problem with orange tones if I use the shade or cloudy settings on my camera, too!) so I took another to show him. This one I toned down the orange in photoshop:
It still amuses me that Everett loves grass so much! My other babies seriously hated it and would either cry, scream, or just use their abs to hold their legs up off the grass the whole time, if they could! Everett has no problem with it, with sitting in it, and loves to play with it with his hands!! So different.
Later in the day we added some blue to the kids’ hair and went to pick up a few extra fireworks at a nearby stand. I waited in the car with sleeping Ember and Everett and a blue-haired Payson. Allan took the older girls into the stand.
And much later in the night we headed over a few streets away to set up on this grassy area with a great view of the fireworks being set up at a park in town. We did our little fireworks and sparklers and then waited for the firework show to start!
We watched those with Brooke obnoxiously yelling out random noises and words the entire time. She has a major problem with just screaming out weird sounds and random words. Finally we threatened to send her to the car (which was ten feet away) for the rest of the show if she didn’t shut up. She acted like we were cruel and unreasonable but settled down. A little :/
And that’s it!
