Walking on a Trail

I wanted to get some fresh air. I didn’t want to deal with watching five kids at a park though. Is that horrible? I don’t think so…

Allan was nice enough to send me the link to the map of this trail that goes through our city. I printed it off and away we went!

Everett was sound asleep and I was a bit bummed about having to wake him. photo 057eresized_zps7b6021fa.jpg

Ready and excited for our walk! photo 059eresized_zpsabe5568c.jpg

We had a damper put on our moods right away. Two women who’d just finished the walk stopped me to tell me they’d just seen a 6 foot long snake slither into the grass a few feet away. We were all put on edge. Especially Brooke! She wanted to just go right back to the car but I told the kids to stay in the middle of the path and just watch where they were going and don’t run and we’d be fine. Snakes don’t just attack people. If they get scared they will so if we don’t startle them and walk where they are we’ll be fine! photo 068eresized_zps4c2ecd7e.jpg

Half way through the walk and Payson had been begging to ride in the stroller the whole time and I finally got sick of hearing him ask and set the three youngest up like this: photo 078eresized_zps2792cded.jpg

It was difficult to push that stroller after that but worth it because those three were happy! photo 082eresized_zpsbb8bfeaa.jpg photo 091eresized_zps50665ed8.jpg photo 107eresized_zps01e6068c.jpg photo 108eresized_zpsc94d31fd.jpg photo 109eresized_zps433d5e62.jpg

Back at the car there needed to be a diaper change before heading off. photo 132eresized_zps25ce49aa.jpg

We stopped at Maverick on the way home for some treats. photo 141eresized_zpsa7ac6ff1.jpg photo 142eresized_zps119c2542.jpg

It was our first time in this gas station. I let the kids each get a treat and then they shared a giant icee. photo 145eresized_zpsc80b99de.jpg photo 150eresized_zpsafd9ee8a.jpg
