Project Life

I didn’t try very hard to take good pictures of my scrapbook pages. I guess because I’m just a regular Joe when it comes to scrapbook (no talent) I don’t know that anyone really cares to see my layouts up close and personal. But you did ask to see some of them so, I snapped a couple pages from each of my kids’ scrapbooks to show you what I do with Project Life. I really can’t recommend Project Life enough if you want to scrapbook but are really short on time! Or if you have time but just aren’t creative (like me!) and want something easily put together.

If you really want I can photograph layouts better, with larger images to post… just let me know!

This first layout is one from the family album. It was obviously when I was pregnant with Everett. Sadly I had to give up my family album… keeping up with five albums, one for each kid, every year is enough right now. Allan did ask me to start up on the family one again since it’s usually mostly about me and him and he loves looking back through our lives but… I don’t know. I guess I will eventually.
 photo 265resized_zps90a08709.jpg

This next layout is from Payson’s 2014 album. It’s a layout from that day of errands we had a couple weeks ago. photo 269resized_zps605b6418.jpg

Another layout from Payson’s 2014 album. This was back when we were still living in the hotel and we went to a store and the fire alarm went off and the firetruck came and one of the firemen let my kids go up in the truck! Such a fun time. I don’t have any red Project Life cards (they seriously need to make more cards with RED, Payson’s album needs red since it’s his favorite color! lol) but I had Payson draw some pictures of the day to go along with the photos instead of using just Project Life cards! photo 272resized_zps58b84b35.jpg

One more from Payson’s album. This showed some little moments from hotel life. I have yet to add journaling to these cards. photo 276resized_zps95f1fb3f.jpg

Geez, did I only photograph Payson’s album?! Another from his, this one the first time he got to play in snow! photo 277resized_zps46d5567d.jpg

Okay, this is from Ember’s 2013 album. Her Halloween layout. photo 280resized_zps5251a7f5.jpg

Another from Ember’s 2013 album. This was the first week of school in Arizona. photo 283resized_zpsf22b9f6a.jpg

The next two layouts are from Brooklyn’s 2012 scrapbook! The arboretum: photo 287resized_zpsc977062a.jpg

And then some fun things we did during the summer: photo 290resized_zps3cef3311.jpg

And then I decided for Sierra’s to show her 2007 album! My little baby girls!! photo 293resized_zps98c625ff.jpg

And then this is from Sierra’s 2013 album, her first day of school! photo 294resized_zps336a5211.jpg

And just one from Everett’s 2013 album. I was going to take photos of his current album but he woke up and my scrapbooking photoshoot was over 😛 haha photo 298resized_zpsdd52175b.jpg

Another Day in the Past

I don’t even know when these pictures were taken. Though I did scrapbook them back when they were new! Yay me for that, I guess.

Another stack of library books. photo 341eresized_zps4cb0005b.jpg

One night Allan and I smelled gas. We wondered what it was and searched our house trying to sniff it out. Allan turned on the gas fireplace to test it out (unbeknownst to me) and then went to put the older kids to bed. Ember and I were in the living room. I was working on something at our big counter and Ember was coloring at her kids’ table. Then she started screaming. I turned around to pick her up and ask what was wrong and she was holding her hand up. She’d touched the fireplace glass and her fingertips were all burned.

We were up very late that night with Ember taking care of her burned hand. I felt so bad for her. Luckily we have this one ice pack that doesn’t get freezing cold when it’s frozen, just chilled… it’s perfect for burns because you can hold it to your burn and not get icy cold and uncomfortable, just chill relief. I sat with Ember, holding her hand with the ice pack and watching Face Off. She loves Face Off. It was really late by this time and she wasn’t showing any signs of being okay. Every time I’d take the ice pack off she’d scream! Finally she was crying for bandaids so I put a bandaid on each finger and breastfed her to sleep. I could tell even as she slept in my lap that she was in pain. She kept grimacing and her fingers would twitch. It was so so sad. photo 010eresized_zps1824de94.jpg

Ember woke up in the night a few times and eventually I brought her to bed with us. photo 002eresized_zps959ad16d.jpg

The next day she was feeling better. Her hands looked so much better! You could barely see the blisters, they weren’t raised or red or bad looking. Yay! photo 026eresized_zps9e0a1d27.jpg

For a special outing we went to a local pizza place for their lunch special. Ember was in a good mood 🙂 photo 040eresized_zpse126dab6.jpg photo 044e2resized_zps1b5f6f12.jpg photo 053eresized_zps0f5f5e60.jpg photo 067eresized_zps9000329c.jpg photo 069eresized_zps34dcf927.jpg

When I opened the back of my car to put Everett’s stroller in Ember asked if she could climb up there. I said, sure. photo 086eresized_zpsd36f05a3.jpg photo 090eresized_zpsc93d976e.jpg photo 105eresized_zps116d8d69.jpg

By this time Everett was ready for his lunch so I breastfed him before driving home. photo 116eresized_zpsc8316cfe.jpg photo 142beresized_zps8bbe0d33.jpg photo 179eresized_zps72bab0e8.jpg photo 200eresized_zps64220fc5.jpg photo 225eresized_zpsdf7f4d33.jpg photo 239eresized_zps88207f1d.jpg photo 249eresized_zpsccba9859.jpg

Ember had been putting the keys into the ignition and she got one stuck because it was the wrong key. She pulled the keychain hard to get it free and it broke one of the chains and some of my keys went flying all over the car. She felt bad over that. Poor girl. photo 259eresized_zpsf8cbea35.jpg photo 263eresized_zps37944319.jpg

More Catch Up

Morning time in the kitchen. photo 099e2resized_zps8ffe049d.jpg photo 100eresized_zpse8f63275.jpg photo 110eresized_zpseecff82c.jpg photo 125eresized_zps74e95026.jpg

I scheduled Sierra’s 8 year well child checkup, Ember’s 3 year well child checkup, Everett’s 4 month baby checkup, and Payson’s vaccination catchup appointment on the same day. Brooke was in school since she doesn’t need another checkup until August. photo 132eresized_zpsbd4c784c.jpg photo 133eresized_zpsfad0339b.jpg photo 145eresized_zps815d74e4.jpg photo 146ceresized_zpse8fa1a79.jpg

As a treat for lunch after them all getting shots we went to McDonald’s for lunch. photo 165eresized_zps76f326dd.jpg

Sierra and Ember made snowmen out of their chicken nuggets. photo 198eresized_zps28fc5608.jpg

Then we went to Target for some children’s Tylenol and I let them each pick something from the dollar spot. photo 206eresized_zps10956eb4.jpg photo 212eresized_zpsf69d2db7.jpg

I got Ember this outfit on clearance at Babies R Us and she asked if she could wear it (she loves dressing up) and she twirled around a lot.
 photo 223eresized_zpse0900b00.jpg photo 236eresized_zps04af8814.jpg

I remembered to take some 4 month pictures of Everett! photo 262esb2resized_zps206bfc47.jpg photo 267eresized_zps3c8533a8.jpg

He reaches for everything nowadays. He loves to grab my camera or my face or pretty much anything that comes near him 🙂 photo 269eresized_zps46ec56c0.jpg

I try to edit my vertical images into horizontal oriented ones for printing. That’s why this has text added to it. I only scrapbook with horizontal images when using project life 🙂 photo 277bwresized_zps2aeb06e1.jpg

He doesn’t love tummy time but he doesn’t hate it anymore! photo 287eresized_zps882450c6.jpg

It’d been a couple hours since the kids got shots and they were all complaining (especially Ember) about the pain so I dosed out Tylenol to all of them. Chewable children’s Tylenol is the best thing ever!! photo 323eresized_zps7d3eedd2.jpg photo 327ecropresized_zpsf2d24d60.jpg

I bought Frozen that day, it was the day it came out! We watched it after we picked Brooke up from school. photo 336eresized_zpsa6251e7b.jpg

From Two Weeks Ago.

I decided I’d slowly catch back up on blogging. Mostly because I don’t feel like taking pictures this week and I already have a boatload of pictures on photobucket so… might as well use that instead of just not blogging at all!

Payson brought home a giant bag and binder from school. It’s the show and tell bag and they have to write clues to read to the class about what toy they brought in the bag. Payson had been talking about the show and tell bag for weeks and was so excited to bring elephant to school to show his class. I love that his teacher insists on not helping kids sound out words when they’re given writing assignments. Here are Payson’s clues he came up with to help his class guess what was in the bag. photo 002eresized_zps9b04d02f.jpg

I went to Babies R Us with Ember and Everett to get a bumbo. I gave Ember quarters to put into this toy but it was broken. It just played music but didn’t move. Let down. photo 006eresized_zps78606366.jpg

I started potty training Ember two weeks ago. She’s fully potty trained now. This was the first time she went pee in a public bathroom and I was so proud of her! We took a cellphone picture to text daddy but then I decided to snap a picture with my big camera after we washed our hands just to document the moment. She was giving a thumbs up. (Love that she still does a thumbs up with her pointer finger, haha!) photo 030eresized_zps653da10f.jpg

We’ve done many library trips and I don’t photograph most of them anymore but I think I might start photographing and listing our books on my blog again because I love looking back at my old posts like that and remembering books we loved. photo 064eresized_zpsfd004fe5.jpg

This day I did take some pictures at the library when we went. We spend hours there! photo 071eresized_zps844d6041.jpg photo 072e2resized_zps9e5003e5.jpg photo 075eresized_zpsce89b76d.jpg photo 076bwresized_zps8ea68b53.jpg

One night while I was brushing my teeth and washing my face before bed Allan was laying with Everett in bed waiting for me. Everett fell asleep all snuggled up with him and I took a couple pictures before joining them 🙂 photo 085bwresized_zpsd015d1bd.jpg photo 086bwresized_zps40275f86.jpg

Gosh, so much more! But, for now I’m going to stop because I need to run to the store. We are SO out of food after me not grocery shopping in over a week!

I hardly know where to start blogging after not blogging the last 11 days of my life. Should I just not try to catch up?

Friday I got sick. Sierra had been sick so it didn’t surprise me. It did hit me extra hard, though. It was the worst stomach virus I’ve ever had in my entire life. By a lot. I got myself a stay in the ER at the worst of it, Monday. Luckily Everett took a bottle during that time. My milk had dried up but it came back after 3 liters of fluid in my IV.

I got a couple doses of potassium in the ER. Did you know that when your saline solution runs out and doesn’t mix with the potassium anymore your veins feel like they’re being burned by acid? Pure potassium into the veins is a horrible thing. I was almost crying as I weakly searched for the nurse call button. “Um, (tring to hold back tears) I think my IV liquid ran out because my arm is burning from the potassium.”

My awesome nurse was in my room in seconds and changed out my IV bag of fluid so fast. As the pain washed away with the new fluid I felt like crying again, but from relief. Whew, I don’t like vein pain.

I got a prescription for more potassium and a strict order to drink gallons of gatorade and rest. I did drink myself silly on gatorade but I didn’t get any rest at all because the day after I got home from the ER Ember was puking and Allan was at work. And Everett seemed cranky.. perhaps from the formula messing with his belly? He’d only had about 5 ounces of formula but he didn’t seem to love the change in his bowel habits from it.

So anyway, I don’t even know what to blog about! My birthday was during all this illness stuff and Allan was out of state during part of it. It was a mess. One of the worst weeks ever but, it’s almost over. I hope. Two of my kids are recovering from being up most of the night last night barfing. Everett is the only one out of the family who hasn’t thrown up and I’m hoping that all that breastmilk he got while I was fighting off the virus gave him the antibodies he needed to protect his body from getting it. I hope.

I had a lot of pictures I took before we all got sick. I’d been meaning to blog but was really busy. A lot’s going on. Not anything exciting… doctor and dentist appointments, school field trips, stuff like that. Busy. We missed out on a friend’s birthday party while we were sick and that was a major bummer. Wow, look at me just talking and talking.

So, I dunno. Should I catch up blog? Or should I just wait until the next time I take pictures this week?

Here are pictures I took of me and all my kids on my birthday. I’m 31. Allan and I will celebrate it some other time since he wasn’t even in the same state as me that day. haha photo 220eresized_zpse75eb311.jpg photo 223eresized_zps0ec4c109.jpg photo 225eresized_zps84b847b3.jpg photo 226eresized_zpsf770b81d.jpg photo 214eresized_zps3afa1140.jpg

Taking Pictures While On The Go!

How do I easily take so many pictures while out and about? The only trick I have is that I carry a huge diaper bag (or a huge purse when my babies get bigger) so that I can grab my camera to snap a picture and then toss it back in the bag when I’m done!

It helps if you have a child who loves having their photo taken 😉 photo 023eresized_zps45b0dbe5.jpg photo 026eresized_zpsb4baf998.jpg

I took a picture of my diaper bag to show how enormous it is. Ember sees me with my camera and comes sprinting over and striking poses.
 photo 046eresized_zps823c5356.jpg

And then Payson is calling from the recliner, “Mom, take a picture of me! Take a picture of me!!” photo 089eresized_zps1372eb16.jpg

And the only other pictures I took this week are below. I have been on a video recording kick lately so I have probably an hour of home video footage from this week but barely any photos!

Pajama day for Sierra’s class.
 photo 021eresized_zpse0532423.jpg

Allan went to the lake with his brother to go ice fishing again this last Saturday. When he got home and was unloading the SUV the kids climbed in the back for a five foot drive into the garage, from the driveway. haha photo 008eresized_zps39f838a6.jpg

Payson got to read the scripture in primary Sunday and was scared to death.
We stayed in the primary room with him to give him courage. Allan went up there when it was Payson’s turn and helped him read the scripture!
 photo 020eresized_zps9fd57928.jpg

Sierra was excited that we were in there. photo 021eresized_zpsb86fc2ce.jpg

You can’t really understand him in this clip (you couldn’t even if you were there) but here it is anyway.

In the afternoon the kids looked at their scrapbooks. photo 007eresized_zps154bda6d.jpg

All of Sunday afternoon was spent looking at scrapbooks and watching home movies. It takes a good two hours (sometimes more) to keep up with scrapbooking and burning DVDs of our home movies every single week. Sometimes I feel like it’s too much work to spend the very little free time I have on that but when we’re all sitting together in the family room laughing and remembering things together… I realize it’s one of the most important things I do. photo 007eresized_zps154bda6d.jpg photo 013eresized_zpsfaa01e2b.jpg

That leads us to today! St. Patrick’s Day. I’m the type of mom who forgets the smaller holidays! We don’t own anything green so I put green eye shadow on the girls with green hair ties and drew a (crappy) clover on their cheeks and sent them off to school! Pretty much a fail in my opinion but the girls were happy! photo 039eresized_zps8cc75fd0.jpg photo 044eresized_zpsa81cf722.jpg photo 033eresized_zps9a3b0745.jpg

Brooke and Sierra wanted to be photographed separately so I took pictures of the littler three once we got home from dropping them off at school. And you’ll see, Everett was really, really happy about it! 🙂 photo 098eresized_zps65fe9d5d.jpg photo 114eresized_zps43bf1604.jpg photo 135eresized_zps3db8d875.jpg

It was really hard for me to narrow down these pictures because Everett was smiling (or laughing) in all of them. Ack, sooo cute!! photo 146eresized_zps7294c47d.jpg photo 155eresized_zps70e2a652.jpg photo 167eresized_zps9893d7a8.jpg

The Second Week of March was Spent…

Monday I went to Costco to drop off all of my and Allan’s old VHS and camcorder tapes to be converted to DVDs. We haven’t watched our old home videos in YEARS. It’s going to be SO FUN to see our wedding and when I was pregnant with Brooklyn and when she was a baby and when Sierra was a baby! I’m SO excited!! 🙂
It takes 4-6 weeks, though. Boo hoo. I’ve waited over 5 years to watch them and yet this month feels like forever. haha! I just can’t wait to see my daughters as babies again! photo 061eresized_zpsdfa11625.jpg

At Costco I needed to get cash back because the food court only takes cash and I had zero. I didn’t want to stand in the crazy long checkout lines in order to buy something to get cash back so instead I took a few pictures of us by the photo booth and printed them for like 60 cents. And then got $20 cash back on a <$1 purchase! photo IMG_9785eresized_zpsbe3e70cf.jpg photo IMG_9797eresized_zps70b4fea1.jpg

Could you tell that Everett was ready for milk by the way he’s sucking on his hand and bib? haha photo IMG_9805eresized_zps801f1a3d.jpg

Sierra’s star student at school this week. She came home with this poster and set to work on it. She didn’t pause to plan or decide how to do it, she knew what she wanted to do and went for it! I wish I was as decisive as that child is!! photo 002eresized_zps88bf3728.jpg photo 003eresized_zpsbdcf5577.jpg

Baby hands.
 photo 005eresized_zps12a352d7.jpg

It’s a tradition in our family (and probably most other LDS families, I would guess) to get scriptures as a gift when our 8 year old gets baptised. Sierra’s getting baptised next month so I got her some scriptures with her name engraved on them. She picked out this cute little carrying case and was giddy with excitement. She kept telling me it was the best day of her life over and over again 🙂 photo 006eresized_zps2f13c242.jpg photo 008eresized_zpsc76f934c.jpg

I never blogged about our experience in our new church. I started to a few weeks ago but got bored of telling the story. Basically the very first day we went to church was a really awesome experience. My kids were so adorable and friendly and we like the ward and people so… all good things. Maybe I should write the specifics in my journal? Like, about how each kid felt and how they acted.

But anyway, here are a half dozen pictures from church. The first few from two weeks ago and the last few from this past Sunday. photo 006eresized_zps548ec0e4.jpg photo 018eresized_zps3bfac84f.jpg photo 026eresized_zpsdb385735.jpg photo 028eresized_zpsa666e556.jpg

After our gospel doctrine class (where Allan and I go together) we like to peek in on the kids in primary before I head to Relief Society and Allan’s off to Elder’s Quorom. photo 009eresized_zps2562c418.jpg

That day they were doing an activity and they sat all our kids together. (Usually they sit with kids their ages, Brooke’s in an older primary group) photo 011eresized_zps1e4d794c.jpg

I took this and Allan said, “I don’t think you’re supposed to take pictures in the chapel.” And I told him, “What’s done is done.” photo 012eresized_zps25bab0ae.jpg

We wanted to go on a small hike but the nearby trail we picked didn’t go very far. It was a fun, short walk though! photo 015eresized_zpsb07e4de2.jpg

If you’re wondering where Everett is in this next picture… photo 025eresized_zpsa75149a2.jpg

He was sleeping in his stroller, which is where we propped my camera up to take this picture. We walked to a park after this. photo 026eresized_zpscd68138c.jpg

I only got this one picture at the park, because sometimes I like to play and not document 🙂 photo 095eresized_zps1e43e2e6.jpg

We went out to ice cream one day. photo 183eresized_zps69a00d49.jpg

Everett was happy. photo 155eresized_zps77e89f1e.jpg photo 160eresized_zps9573d497.jpg photo 163eresized_zpsf22a69e7.jpg

This day it got up to almost 70 degrees. When we got back in our car after ice cream it was hot. Payson was wearing a long sleeved shirt and asked if he could take it off because he was soooo hot! photo 208eresized_zps042092fc.jpg

I can never keep Ember away from Everett’s binky. I’m washing that thing all the time! photo 198eresized_zpsbc475f41.jpg

At home I changed Everett into the only short sleeved clothing he owns. This onesie was a gift from his aunt and uncle and is still a little bit big. But he was happy! photo 300eresized_zpsd2907ba1.jpg photo 385eresized_zps4533a3e1.jpg photo 444bwresized_zpsbf83d82a.jpg

One day when Everett was fussing while I made dinner Ember tried her best to comfort him. photo 003eresized_zps77353429.jpg

Ember loves to listen to music on my iPod. She had put Weezer on repeat (at 3 she’s a master of that iPod!) and fell asleep to it. photo 037eresized_zps2f3c7c13.jpg

And once all five of my kids were asleep I watched youtube videos while drinking carrot juice. Exciting times! (Allan was gone this whole week on a business trip. Boo hoo) photo 042eresized_zps9ab96bda.jpg

Ice Fishing!!

Last Saturday morning Allan took Brooke ice fishing! photo 020eresized_zpsa38f687b.jpg

Since I wasn’t there I don’t have too much to say about these pictures. I won’t lie and say one day Allan will tell the story because he won’t. haha
He will when I scrapbook them in a couple weeks and that’s all that matters 🙂 photo 021eresized_zps6e61f844.jpg

He told me these four holes were already there and all he had to do was reopen them. photo 022eresized_zps7aba386d.jpg photo 023eresized_zps76efbd4a.jpg photo 024eresized_zps4c4b3ebd.jpg

I think this was the second fish she caught but the first one all on her own! As in, she dropped in the fishing line, she set the hook, and she reeled it in! photo 028eresized_zpsc6b5e025.jpg photo 029eresized_zpsc39c59d0.jpg photo 030eresized_zps05158d9a.jpg photo 032eresized_zps9e076475.jpg photo 033eresized_zps46008955.jpg

My Life in Colorado as a Mom of Five!

Good morning, Brooke! photo 001eresized_zpse363c1b6.jpg

Everett hangs out in Ember’s old bouncy chair in my bathroom as I get the other kids ready in the mornings. His boyish ones are in the main rooms where he hangs out more. photo 022eresized_zps81ec9c49.jpg photo 039eresized_zps4ea27a85.jpg photo 049eresized_zps75e68dd1.jpg

Payson before school. photo 057eresized_zps383ef946.jpg

We got up extra early that day and the kids had a bit of time to just hang out before heading off to school. photo 064eresized_zpseb5fa03e.jpg photo 065eresized_zpsd825aee3.jpg

We own so many puzzles. All my kids love puzzles so very much. Ember will do puzzles over and over and over and over again. Puzzles, puzzles, puzzles. It’ll be a super strange day the day where puzzles aren’t such a big part of our daily life! photo 070eresized_zpsd319d004.jpg photo 077eresized_zps57c1f04a.jpg

I met up with Allan on his lunch break to get our driver’s licenses. photo 083eresized_zpsdcb89793.jpg

Ember thought this little machine to check your vision was intriguing. I let her look in it after Allan and I had. photo 085eresized_zps64fb2329.jpg

I took a picture of Allan getting his picture taken. He just loves when I do stuff like that. (haha, he doesn’t)
I told him as he walked back to me, “Do you just love me when I photograph you in public places?!” photo 088eresized_zpse003e730.jpg

And then he took this picture of me filling out my paperwork and I didn’t even know until I got home later and uploaded the photos! haha, stinker. photo 089eresized_zpsf38404f3.jpg

He also took this one of Ember while I was getting my picture taken. photo 090eresized_zps3a95d70d.jpg

We went to Jack in the Box (Allan’s fave fast food) for a little lunch before he went back to work and I went on to Target to get some stuff.
On the way out Ember asked me for an icee because she saw a dad and his little girls drinking icees. It was cute how she’s like, “Mom, those little girls are having an icee, maybe I can have a icee?” photo 095eresized_zps198deb67.jpg

It snowed and Payson really wanted to play in the snow. So we did. photo 020eresized_zps5f6fb97a.jpg photo 033eresized_zps8f994a36.jpg photo 035eresized_zps22251b14.jpg photo 044eresized_zpsb1ab30b6.jpg photo 096eresized_zpsfff9710a.jpg photo 110eresized_zps9927567f.jpg photo 120eresized_zpsbb7c221f.jpg

Coming in from the snow is best when there’s hot chocolate waiting for you! photo 130eresized_zpsf2460db8.jpg photo 135eresized_zps51b42126.jpg

Now that life is sorta settling down I pulled out our preschool art supplies and we do something creative each day. photo 152eresized_zps276887b6.jpg photo 159eresized_zps80c240d4.jpg photo 169eresized_zpsdc1f519c.jpg photo 187eresized_zpscb419ec8.jpg

A week ago Everett grabbed his hanging toys for the first time!! He was SO excited. He’s so cute when he’s trying SO hard to grab it, he would grunt and coo nonstop as he worked at aiming his hand just right to grab on. SO cute!! I don’t remember any of my other babies vocalizing so much when they learned how to grab toys! photo 217eresized_zps0e3ae5c0.jpg photo 232eresized_zps6260593b.jpg

Another fun thing about Everett is it looks like he’s going to be left handed! He grabs towards his toys the most with his left hand, he sucks his fingers and thumb on his left hand, he plays with my hair with his left hand. He does use his right, thankfully, so there’s nothing wrong with it, but the left hand usage far dominates! photo 239eresized_zps0db3a1cd.jpg

Everett bites his bottom lip a lot. Mostly when he’s concentrating on something or really excited about a toy or something he sees! photo 257eresized_zps4ea08d6d.jpg

Everett sucks on his hands a lot now that he has control over them. It makes me sad that he’ll wear casts/bandages for 6 weeks. He won’t be able to use or suck on his hands all that time. Ugh, I try not to think about that too much because it makes me so sad for him! photo 288eresized_zps5b8bc3d9.jpg

Goofing off in the cart together. I LOVE double seater carts. I wish every store had them! photo 294eresized_zps7b420e2a.jpg photo 295eresized_zps06d887b4.jpg

After school one day when the snow was still thick outside, the kids played. photo 336eresized_zps123fe602.jpg

I was holding Everett so these were all taken through the window. photo 344eresized_zpsfecc7687.jpg photo 347eresized_zps677b9329.jpg photo 397eresized_zpsd22b47af.jpg

One morning after dropping the three older kids off at school, I went to the emissions testing place to get my car checked out. photo 009eresized_zps684a580d.jpg

I sometimes remember to take a picture of Everett in places for his scrapbook. photo 002eresized_zpsa10cf82c.jpg

Ember liked this place. She thought it was really cool and mysterious. She looked around the whole time and asked me a hundred questions about the place. At the end, while we were driving away she called it a gas station. haha. She’s so cute! photo 015eresized_zpsd76b6630.jpg

She was most excited when our car was up! When the guy drove it away she laughed and said, “That boy drived our car!! He’s silly!!” photo 025eresized_zpsded443b3.jpg photo 028eresized_zpsb902b173.jpg

One morning I was changing Everett’s diaper in my bedroom. I came out and found Ember sitting on the couch with her baby doll and just found it cute. Those little moments ♥ photo 031eresized_zps1a045c0f.jpg

Toys! Everett loves toys 🙂 photo 037eresized_zps577fc010.jpg

I’m going to try to take more pictures of his syndactyly before his surgery. It’s still amazing to me that one day, fairly soon, my son won’t have fused fingers! It’s going to be so strange when those bandages come off and he has five separate fingers!! photo 040eresized_zpsb6602e0c.jpg photo 046eresized_zpsca856cfe.jpg

When we first moved to Colorado all of us were plagued with dry skin, hair, lips…
We bought a bunch of lotion and have been getting our skin back to normal. Each kid got their own tube of chapstick, as well. Poor Payson’s lips got the worst. They were SO dry and chapped. So much so that the center of his lip split open pretty bad. I gave him chapstick and tried out coconut oil but it wasn’t doing much and his lips were getting worse.
To google I went and I found a message board with people talking about split lips. Someone brilliantly suggested lansolin and I went out that day, within the hour- haha, and bought some. I’ve been putting it on his lips every morning, afternoon, and night and it’s helping a LOT. This was the first day. I thought I’d better hurry and document the split lip before it was healed. I should’ve taken a zoomed in picture when it was really bad but I just never did. photo 066eresized_zps1e31109b.jpg photo 069eresized_zps9a393982.jpg

I never blogged about our first day at our new ward!
It was really great! We LOOOVE our new ward!

All five kids were good in sacrament (the first hour-long meeting which the whole family goes to) and then when it was time for primary (just the kids’ classes), Brooke went off to her 10-11 year old class brave as can be. Sierra, Payson, and Ember had sharing time first. (Sharing time is when all the kids, no matter their ages, meet together)

Ember is now in Sunbeams and she was out of her mind excited to be in primary with Sierra and Payson! (She used to be in nursery, which is for ages 18 months to 3 years)
So we took the middle three kids to primary sharing time (in one big room) and Sierra is just fine and Ember is just fine but Payson is sobbing. Poor guy has been through a lot this year with our move and two school changes and everything! Allan and I decided to stay and sit in the back of the primary room as a comfort for Payson.
Allan ended up moving closer to Payson (into the seat behind Payson) so he could rub his shoulders and pat his back because Payson wouldn’t stop sobbing even with us in the room.
Once Allan was nearer to him and he looked back at me a few times and was sure I wasn’t leaving he perked up.

Meanwhile Ember was at the front of the room with the other three year olds (all girls in her class here) having the! She was bouncing up and down in her chair, pigtails bobbing, in between affectionate glances to her new bffs sitting next to her. She kept putting her hand on the little girl next to her’s shoulder and leaning in for hugs and smiling at everyone and just generally being freaking adorable.

Sierra was seated right in front of me and kept turning around and smiling at me and putting her hand on my arm. Then she whispered, “Mom, can I have gum?” (taking good advantage of mom being in primary, haha)

The three of them got called to the front of the room and the primary kids (and leaders) sang them a welcome song. Sierra smiled shyly. Ember bounced up and down, grinning. Payson looked a little incomfortable- like he wanted to go back and sit in Allan’s lap. Everett breastfed under a nursing cover for the first little bit and then hung out very happily in his carseat the rest of the time.

Allan and I shot each other about a hundred glances. Glances which were very clear in meaning to each other, “We have the cutest kids EVAR!!” haha

After primary we took each kid to their individuals classes (smaller rooms with only kids their same ages and two teachers) and met Brooke in the hall. A quick hug for her and “hi, how are you doing?!” and then Allan and I hovered in the hall. We kept peeking in the through the window in the doors at the kids. We bounced back and forth from Brooke’s class, to Sierra’s, to Payson’s, to Ember’s, and then back again. Seeing each of their happy faces through the windows we finally decided to go to our meetings. But then we changed our minds and decided to sit together on the couches in the foyer and chat a bit. We were a bit worried that Payson would start sobbing and the teacher would come to get us so we waited near his class.

Anyway, this is taking too long and is most likely boring to anyone but me. haha! But there it is. We adore our new church and are so excited to be members there! photo 006eresized_zps548ec0e4.jpg photo 018eresized_zps3bfac84f.jpg photo 026eresized_zpsdb385735.jpg photo 028eresized_zpsa666e556.jpg
