90 Minute Delay of School

When it’s snowy the school is delayed by 90 minutes. We didn’t know about that so we showed up at the regular time only to be sent away. Instead of going home (and dealing with the chaos of getting four kids out of coats and shoes only to have to put them back in coats and shoes an hour later) we stopped to play in the snow for a couple minutes and then went to Chik-fil-A in hopes of getting hot chocolate.

I told the kids to not play with the snow because they didn’t have gloves that day. They don’t listen to me, though. photo 071eresized_zps0289a862.jpg photo 076eresized_zpse6cc8103.jpg photo 081eresized_zpsd56c1175.jpg

Ember’s hands were freezing from the, literally, two minutes she was out there since she threw a snowball. I wrapped her hands up with my shirt to warm them up. I wouldn’t have thought to take a picture of this except that I looked back to ask how she was doing and she said, “good” but she still had a leftover tear right under her little eye! Chick-fil-A doesn’t have hot chocolate (dang it!) so we ordered two meals for all the kids to share. They’d already had breakfast at home so…

After the older girls were in school we went to Michael’s. photo 142eresized_zps55dce7f7.jpg photo 164eresized_zpse5ca6b52.jpg photo 167eresized_zpscfe2ebd6.jpg photo 175eresized_zps6071093e.jpg

I bought brush tip markers while there for the little kids. photo 191eresized_zpsf754e176.jpg photo 194eresized_zpsd17616c1.jpg
