When Payson’s teacher emailed me to tell me that Payson was student of the month in December I about fell off my chair. Not because I am unaware of how smart he is but just because… I was so excited!! And so proud!! And did I mention excited?!
Payson was home, at the table coloring, when I read the email and I called him over to me. I told him his teacher emailed me something about him. He looked curious and asked what. I said, “She emailed me to tell me… that you… got… STUDENT OF THE MONTH!”
His face broke into a huge grin. Oh my gosh, so freaking cute!
The day of the assembly where they have the kids come up to get their award he was so excited! It was a chaotic morning since Everett’s biggest drink fest is between the hours of 5am and 9am. Going anywhere before 10am is brutal and up until that day I hadn’t had to!
But, the screaming baby couldn’t put a damper on the awesome day. I was so proud of my little boy and he was so sweet and so adorable and so small up there getting his reward!
I had been talking to Sierra and Payson’s teachers a little bit before and after the assembly and Sierra’s teacher told her she could walk with us to Payson’s classroom and be a part of the excitement and picture taking and all that. I thought that was so sweet to let Sierra be a part of Payson’s big day.
