Our Hotel Comes with Free Rides!!!

Allan used this luggage cart to bring all of our many boxes up to our room. He was finished unloading everything and about to take it back to the front lobby when I told the kids to climb on! I figured I’d really want to ride one if I were a kid.
Okay nevermind, I’ll be honest, I’m 30 years old and currently want to ride that thing, too 😉 photo 003eresized_zps7ae9064c.jpg photo 007eresized_zpscb7b01a6.jpg photo 011eresized_zpsf2bd92d3.jpg photo 020eresized_zps30b413d1.jpg photo 038eresized_zps5ba4b4db.jpg

By this point two things were going on:
a) Allan wanted me to not take this next photo because he was getting impatient and wanted to hurry up and get in the car
b) I told Allan it’s just who I am to document everything and I was just going to take the picture anyway photo 043eresized_zps5b13d413.jpg

Ember’s first experience with snow was really funny. She LOVED it and was excited but also worried to touch it. I don’t know what she was thinking about it but she was too nervous to touch it for a couple minutes! She finally did though and then laughed about it. But then didn’t like her cold hand! haha photo 047eresized_zpsbbdae27a.jpg photo 051eresized_zpsa3efbc2d.jpg photo 058eresized_zps8764467f.jpg

Yesterday for dinner we hit up KFC (Allan’s fave, not mine) and Sierra loved that there were “a hundred of me!” in this diamond patterned wall. photo 066eresized_zpsa42ce5d5.jpg

Allan was gone all morning so I got to take the kids down to breakfast by myself. The moby wrap saved the day for that experience! photo 068eresized_zps9bffc1e2.jpg photo 069bwresized_zps64c9d55c.jpg photo 071eresized_zpsd0ead723.jpg

Sierra opened a butter packet to butter some bread and exclaimed, “My butter looks like boobs!!” And the rest of the kids burst out laughing and started begging to see the “butter boobs.” photo 073eresized_zpsdf2fdade.jpg photo 074eresized_zps38fa9738.jpg

We posed in the hotel hallway and now I’ll change Everett’s poopy diaper and then we’re off to look at houses! We’re running late since Everett wanted to eat and Allan’s already in the car with the other kids, probably thinking that will make things go faster. But seriously, there is NO hurrying a baby breastfeeding 😛 photo 079eresized_zpsfab0c5eb.jpg

Moving Day!

Welp, this week has been utterly insane!

So we’re moving tomorrow. Or probably already on the road by the time anyone reads this! From Arizona to Colorado. I can’t really believe it; it hasn’t sunk in! I’ve been too busy doing the Christmas thing, packing, and loading up all our stuff to notice that we’re LEAVING Arizona!

Anyway, next time I blog it’ll be from a hotel where we’re staying for 2-3 weeks! photo 033eresized_zps79aa0a13.jpg photo 074eresized_zpsaaff396f.jpg photo 079eresized_zps0ae62b94.jpg photo 099eresized_zps7ed60018.jpg photo 102eresized_zps645e93d7.jpg photo 128eresized_zpsae9f2fdd.jpg photo 134eresized_zpse39b3120.jpg photo 136eresized_zps55fc7551.jpg photo 154eresized_zps31648875.jpg

Merry Christmas!

It is way too late to be awake right now! Everett made wrapping presents take three times as long this year! Can’t wrap presents while breastfeeding! But it’s all done now and ready to go and I’m sorta glad I’m falling over exhausted because even at 30 years old I feel as excited as I did when I was a kid about Christmas morning! I love watching my kids open presents and enjoy the magic of it all! photo 011eresized_zps3024da96.jpg

Family Photo Shoot with the Timer!

So two Sundays ago after church we grabbed the tripod and my camera and hurried out to the desert. I had wanted to send Christmas cards out at least a full week before Christmas this year. And even though I printed the cards on time I kept forgetting to buy stamps so they sat and sat on my counter until this morning when I finally sent them off! haha!

Taking family pictures with the tripod and camera timer is always a huge pain in the butt. My kids (minus Ember) hate having pictures taken and so… it’s always a hurried thing to try to get the pain over with as quickly as possible. photo 275e2resized_zps0acf7008.jpg photo 279eresized_zps5e4cbf3f.jpg photo 290e2resized_zps909d68ac.jpg

Knowing how much my kids dislike our family photoshoots we tried to break it up with silly faces very often. photo 291eresized_zps390f3fe4.jpg

We also had let each kid use the remote. Payson took the very last picture of the day. ha photo 436eresized_zps232ff120.jpg

Goodbye School

Me and the kids were emotional on their last day of school here in Arizona. We’re moving this weekend so the next time they go to school will be in a brand new place! They all have loved their teachers this year (after a rocky start, everything actually turned out well!) and teared up a lot over the last couple weeks when talking about leaving. Friday when I realized it was their LAST day of school I got bummed that I hadn’t

Getting Baby to Sleep

Everett will sleep really well in my arms. photo 005eresized_zpsf8de8a1e.jpg

But not so well if I put him down anywhere. I have a few tricks that generally can get me a few minutes here and there of baby naptime, out of mommy’s arms. The best sleep help is white noise. If I put him in his bouncy chair or swing (swaddled tightly helps) while he’s asleep, and have a white noise track blasting… I usually get a few minutes of time to go get crap done while he sleeps. photo 015eresized_zpse2523345.jpg

Unless big sister starts messing with him. Which she does 99% of the time 😛 photo 022eresized_zps73a56e38.jpg photo 025eresized_zps42597ca0.jpg

Mailing Letters to Santa!

The kids wrote letters to Santa and mailed them off last week. I was a smart mama and scanned their letters to have copies on the computer forever. They were too cute not to and now I can print small copies for their scrapbooks. I like adding stuff like that to my kids’ albums 🙂 photo 816eresized_zps75b74b72.jpg

I took pictures of them mailing their letters. Brooklyn didn’t want one of her doing it so that’s why there are only shots of the other three.
