My kids made a lot of really big messes today. It made me mad.
They’re banished to their rooms until dinner. Dinner is about to start, which means this twenty minutes of quiet time is over and that’s not fun.
I made my first pair of pants today. I didn’t use a pattern, just traced an old pair of Ember’s pants. I learned a lot while making them. It was so much fun. I know exactly what I want to do differently next time. (Make the bottom and crotch much smaller, Ember’s a tiny little thing even with a bulky diaper!) Next time will probably be tomorrow. I’m anxious to see what new messes the little two will make in my room while I sew. 😛
The reason I’m practicing sewing is I want to make Ember’s birthday outfit this year rather than pay for one. I’m not sure if I want to go with ruffle pants or a frilly skirt and cute top. Decisions, decisions.
I made that headband, too. I love making headbands. They’re pretty addicting. You can’t really even see the headband in these pictures. Ember actually, honest to goodness, brought me my camera when I put her new outfit on and took me into our front room where this scrapbook paper is temporarily stuck to the wall. I laughed. I snapped these few and then she danced around. I danced with her. She is just too cute, I tell you.
