When she’s going through a phase of refusing all naps and not sleeping well at night either. And when I’m feeling too tired to function. Those are the times when calm, laid back experiences are the very best. Together on a soft bed. Books. Lounging with kids jumping around me. That’s what I need. That’s about all I can handle on days following sleepless nights.
I blogged about this cute little Hungry Caterpillar set a while back. I reposted it just for comparison. Brooklyn and Sierra were so little!
Ember is a new convert to The Very Hungry Caterpillar! She sat and listened to the entire book and giggled and played along. And she sat and listened to it a second time when Payson asked me to read it again!
In this next picture she was dancing. (We’d watched The Emperor’s New Groove before this and the end music was playing on repeat.)
It’s always a must to act out the story when the book ends. Reading through the third time Payson was the caterpillar filling himself up before turning into a butterfly.
This week Ember has had a huge appetite and has been eating a lot of food. She has also been wanting to breastfeed all day long. I suppose she’s just going through a major growth spurt.
She often has her leg over me when she nurses. She’s done that since she was a really little baby and I really love it.
What post would be complete without a Spiderman pose?
I should write about the time Payson was in his Sunday school class with three other four year old boys and they were all talking about Spiderman. I suppose I just did write about it. It was pretty funny/cute.
Pretend sleeping. (Payson hasn’t napped in years and Ember hasn’t napped in weeks so pretend was most definitely pretend.)
If I lay down and close my eyes the nap is not pretend. I’m out cold in like 3 seconds.
He was telling me that sometimes he dreams about puppies and then he wakes up feeling really happy! It was adorable. I freaking love my son!
