Hi!

I have so much I want to do and say on this blog but I can’t seem to find time to type. I have times where I edit photos or check in on facebook or email but I am always holding, and breastfeeding, Ember while I do so. And I just can’t find the brain power to type coherently in those times. Right now it’s 10:09am. I’ve been up for three hours spending some pretty awesome time with my kids. We did preschool stuff and they’re in good moods.

And so I sneak away for just ten minutes to try to blog real quick and…

they’re both over at my sides, one on either side, Ember pulling at my shirt for milk and Payson talking a mile a minute…

I just can’t think clearly enough to talk about what I want to talk about. And there is so much lately that I want to talk about!

So I just close my blog window and wait until Ember is napping and Payson is doing something interesting, quietly , and then, those times never come. Ember doesn’t nap on her own anymore except maybe a half hour a day. Payson is never quiet and when Ember naps he demands all that time of mine for himself…

so I guess what I’m saying is, when I type I feel like I’m on drugs. My brain is altered with these kids’ noises and voices and demands. haha

BUT, I’m going to try harder to find the time to sit down and type because it makes me really sad that all of these things that are happening are lost forever since I didn’t write them down. I forget everything (which is why I started journaling as a child and kept it up all the way until I started blogging) and I’m positive I won’t remember the emotions and thoughts I was having at this time of my life.

Aaack, Ember is playing with my boob (breastfeeding is as much play time/special mommy time as nourishment, I have a whole other post about that brewing! lol) and I can’t focus anymore!

I’ll end this post with a couple pictures from a short family walk the other day.
We are desperate for some cooler weather here!

Lunch!

The other day after dropping the older girls off at school we went to the store for some groceries. I’ve been trying not to stock up on food too much because it tends to go bad or it just gets overwhelming to try to remember what we have and what I’d planned for dinners and everything.

So after months of only buying for three days in advance (and often times being stuck with no food for dinner because I couldn’t make it to the store!) I decided to just do a super mega shopping trip and stock up like crazy. I spent $250 on food and my cart was literally overflowing. I debated grabbing another cart but by the time I thought about it we were 3/4 of the way through our trip and at the back of the store so I just carried on, stacking things precariously high.

We made it through checkout well enough. I did have a really hard time getting everything to stay in/on the cart but figured it was a short walk to where my car was parked so it wouldn’t be the end of the world to carry bags and a box and push the cart.

And luckily I only had my younger two because they are SUPER great shopping buddies.

So as I exit the door to head into the parking lot I see that it is raining.
No, pouring.

Oh no. Oh no no no.

I must’ve said it out loud because another shopping nods, sighs, and says, “Oh no.”

I decide to heck with it all we’re going to get soaked and that’s ok. I tell Payson, “Are you ready to hurry to our car in that rain?!” And he hangs on tighter to the two bags he’s carrying and says, “YES!!”

We start hurrying across the parking lot and a box falls off my cart and then a bag, which I run over, but we make it to the car and I get everything unloaded. I’m so soaked I feel like I took a shower in my clothes. And I’d just blow dried and straightened my hair that day which was the saddest part. I rarely straighten my hair because it takes forEVER and now my hair was frizzy, kinky curly. Oh well. My two little kids were in the best moods ever because we had all this yummy food AND we’d had a parking lot adventure in the rain.

We got home and Ember was SO CRANKY because she was super hungry and she didn’t like how long it was taking me to unload all of our many groceries.
She decided to play with some of our food…

I set up some new booster chairs for the kids. I’ve been meaning to buy some for AGES but just hadn’t. Finally with them set up and the kids buckled in there was a peaceful meal!! They’ve been such a help! Ember LOVESLOVES being at the table with the family. I used to always pull her highchair over next to the table but it just wasn’t the same.

Making sure they had the same lunch.

Another Day with the Little Ones

We spent three hours having fun once we got home from dropping the older girls off at school. We colored and crafted and played games.

And then they were both acting like beasts so I fed them and then attempted naptime. Which took about two more hours to happen! Ugh, such a frustrating challenge to put two little kids to bed. They each wake each other up on purpose!

But I finally got them to sleep!!

And 20 minutes later it was time to leave to pick the older girls up from school. *sigh*

Lightning

The other day when I was cooking dinner I noticed some lightning in the sky off in the distance. As soon as I got the kids’ food on the table I went out to snap a couple of pictures.

I came back inside to find Ember effectively telling me she was not interested in food this week.

I also admit I wasn’t very happy about that crap the older kids had thrown on the floor. The kitchen was spotless before dinner.

Monday Morning with the Two Little Kids

Monday morning is always so awesome. Coming off of a fantastic weekend and then having the peace of only two in the house.

Ember is constantly getting into things on my desk or the kitchen counters. She’s even learned how to push things up to the counter to get a better reach. It’s really not fun. She got ahold of this pen and luckily only drew on that paper.

We all usually sit down to watch Sesame Street together. Or Team Umizoomi. This day while I was turning the TV on and setting up the DVR the little kids climbed up on daddy’s recliner.

I joined them. Watching TV together is perfect cuddle time. Sometimes I fall asleep with them while they watch. lol

Weekend Randoms

A few random shots from last weekend.
We had a BBQ and the kids played in the baby pool and we had the sprinkler going. Allan and I sat nearby after we’d cooked and we also played in the sprinkler with the kids. Which is why I only managed to take this one picture:

Allan got this new recliner for his birthday. He’s been wanting one for a long time. The kids LOVE it.

Allan spent time sitting with each of the kids at one point or another during the weekend. We wish we’d have bought a recliner long ago! lol
