A Quick Little Unimportant Update

Allan and I talked a lot tonight about our future, near future, plans. We decided that he should stop looking for a job in the state we want to live in and instead we are going to focus on getting our house sold. I’m going to look at a townhouse tomorrow with the kids while he’s at work (he really wants to come but is in meetings all day until at least 7pm!) and if I like it well enough we’re going to get it and hopefully move in this weekend! If I hate it, I’m not exactly sure what I’ll do honestly. Well, I know exactly what I’ll do… I’ll keep looking online for places to rent. But I will feel frustrated. lol

So today was a pretty lame day at home. I don’t know why but Ember was extremely fussy today. She cried or whined most of the day. I am guessing teething?? I don’t really know. Hopefully tomorrow she’s in a better mood because dealing with a fussy toddler and three other children while looking at a place to rent with a real estate agent sounds like entirely too much stress for my overtired brain to cope with.

I’m sure you can tell from my blogging that Ember gets more than enough attention, right? Probably too much, honestly. I can’t help myself though. So anyway, I spent the morning playing with her and holding her and she nursed a lot and finally I had to start the crockpot otherwise we wouldn’t have dinner. So it only took me maybe ten or fifteen minutes to prepare everything but she freaked out about it. She was genuinely pissed at me for not holding her while I chopped an onion.

And what do I do? Encourage that nonsense by picking her up the second the onion is in the crockpot and cuddle her. I tossed the rest of the ingredients in the crockpot and stirred it up with her on my hip.

Doesn’t she look truly broken hearted? She was acting so sad about me chopping that onion without her on my hip! It was pretty silly.

Here she is a little later in the day messing with my computer.

I always push all of my stuff further back on the desk and pull the chair away from it so she can’t reach as easily.

The three older kids and I built some simple forts today.

I kept telling the older girls (Brooklyn) not to be so rude to Payson and let him in the bigger fort but instead they made him his own fort on the slide.

In the picture on the right he was telling me how to take the picture.

One of the girls’ blankets was being used for the fort by being draped over the futon. When Ember crawled up there it looked cute behind her head so I snapped some pictures of her.

Ember’s adoration of Spiderman now truly rivals Payson’s. She is constantly doing the Spiderman pose Payson does with web spraying sound effects. Her favorite book is the one in this picture, a Spiderman book.
Photobucket

Every time she gets to the page with Spiderman she squeals, laughs and points to him and does the web spraying hand sign and looks up at me expectantly until I say, “There’s Spiderman!” To which she laughs again!

My older girls aren’t generally interested in sitting still for a picture (which is why the blog is plastered with Ember these days) but I asked very nicely for just one picture please, Sierra?!
Photobucket

She was less than excited about it. So instead of asking her to smile I just let her talk to me about her outfit (she said she “felt pretty like Darla on The Little Rascals”) and jewelry. She picks out her own clothes and does her hair 99% of the time now. She cares a lot about what she wears.

And the next series of pictures is why there are few of Brooklyn online lately. Though she loves to have her picture taken it is always so she can do something goofy.
Like, show the camera her finger.
Photobucket

Act dead.
Photobucket

Do a regular old silly face.
Photobucket

Or spit. Yes, spit. She full on spit into her lap just after this just to be goofy.
Photobucket That small series was extremely mild in silliness for Brooklyn, she’s usually completely crazy when the camera is pointed at her but I wouldn’t share those pictures here, I do have some boundaries. haha.
Though come to think of it I could post a few of the hundreds of pictures I have of her face one inch from the camera or her holding a toy up one inch from the camera. She does that for videos as well. She comes and sticks her face right up to the camera, often touching the lens with her nose or forehead, ditto with toys… right next to the lens. Every single stinking time all the picture or video is is a blurry nothing and I show her that on the screen and I tell her that and still… 95% of the time… face or toy up in the camera’s business. haha

So at lunchtime I made chicken pot pie and Ember hated me for not holding her for fifteen minutes.
Photobucket

And hated the chicken pot pie itself, as well.

Yes, that was our riveting day in a nutshell.
