Easter Egg Hunt

Our town put on an easter egg hunt and I decided to take the kids. Allan’s mom spent the night last night after going with me and the kids to the Easter pageant put on by the LDS church at the Mesa temple. That was an experience I’ll have to blog about eventually! So she came with us today, too.

When we got there I decided to make things easy on myself and let Ember wander around while I watched her. She’s at the age where she wants to just walk and walk and walk. All the other parents were lining up to get into the 0-2 age group’s field to get eggs. They don’t let you go get eggs until every single person is in the field anyway so getting a place in line wasn’t important. And trying to keep Ember in line would’ve been terrible. So she walked around and Payson followed her occasionally and they even held hands on their own and were so flipping cute together. I went for my camera and it was tangled up in my purse strap and I totally missed the CUTEST moment EVER. I’m SO SO bummed about it. They were walking hand and hand down this path in their church clothes, both of them looking at each other and leaning in towards each other. Just the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen ♥
This was a minute later:

We got there an hour early and the big girls were complaining the whole time while the little kids were perfect angels! It was funny. (Not really funny)

Ember was kinda the star of the morning. That baby girl is the sweetest thing on earth!

I’m very glad Allan’s mom came because she stayed with the older three kids while I went in with Ember. Ember saw the eggs and was reaching towards them. When we could finally go she found this blue egg and picked it up with the hugest smile on her face. And when I opened it and there was a tiny pink bunny toy she was in heaven.

Payson’s age group was next. Allan’s mom stayed with the older girls while I took Ember, on my hip, and Payson in. Ember stayed on my hip while I helped Payson out. I told him the “directions” and he understood immediately and did SO well!! He was so awesome!! I was beaming with pride over a silly egg hunt. haha. I love my little boy!!

Ember was so happy with her little dollar basket and her one egg. haha! She was so proud of it and kept showing it to me. I love her!!

So Sierra’s turn came next and I went on the field with her but stayed at the fence. At first they said parents couldn’t come inside the fence and she teared up but then they allowed parents inside the fence but said to stay off the field. So Sierra ran off when the time came and did SO well. She was so freaking adorable out there!

Brooklyn’s turn was next and this time they didn’t let parents on the field and I couldn’t get good pictures through the fence. And because I couldn’t see quite as well I was really just focused on watching her. She was so cute out there! She did a really good job and managed to get eggs when there were so many kids diving about for them!

They had a few eggs with tokens in them that got you a prize at a tent. All three of my older kids found an egg with a token! It was PERFECT. No jealously! So they eached pick out a prize. I was shocked when both older girls picked bubbles. Bubbles?

Payson got spiderman stickers. Of course the first spiderman related thing he saw he picked 🙂
