7 Days of Sick

When I think I’m overtired and overworked.
My kids get sick.
And I’m up all night.
And I’m taking extra care of them all.
And it’s not very fun.
And I feel very sad that this is my life.

But things could be a lot worse.
So there’s no real reason to complain.
But I would like to sleep.
I would like to not have 21 hour work days.
I would like to have help.
I wish I had my mom.

Buuut I don’t. I won’t. I can’t change things. So on I go, working. Cleaning, cooking, childcare, on no sleep. This is my life. Might as well suck it up buttercup and make the most of it.

Because one thing’s for sure. I’m these kids’ favorite. And that’s pretty cool.

Sick Day

Brooklyn was home sick from school today. She came home early from school Friday with a super sore throat and a fever. She was very sick all weekend. Sierra got it too. I’m really nervous about this week because I’m guessing me, Payson and Ember will get it next and that’s not a fun thought.
Anywho, my TV watching kids…
Photobucket

Oh yeah, it went from 100s to 70s to 50s this week. It’s pretty chilly today because I refuse to turn on my heater after the world’s longest, hottest summer. It’s just not right. My kids prefer sweaters anyway. They’re having the time of their lives bundling up with warm clothes and blankets.

Ember followed me all around the house today. If I wasn’t holding her she was whining for me to hold her.
Photobucket

Honestly, can’t say I minded it. I just love her.

Some Stuff

I’m the most creative title creator ever.

I’m starting to try to lose weight again. I stopped for like three months because life was too hectic. I’m motivated again. I haven’t eaten the very healthiest this week (that darn Halloween) but I have worked out for three days in a row and have met a goal Jordan and I set to drink more water every day. I’m typically good about drinking water but this week I wasn’t. Now I’m back on track with my usual 64-120 ounces.

I bought Sierra some Hello Kitty boots at Target. Her feet are abnormally wide because of her toe walking (the pressure on her toes spreads the balls of her feet out) and I figured boots would be easy to slip on. She can’t wear normal shoes unless they’re two sizes bigger than her feet length need.
Anyway, Payson fell head over heels in love with them and wore them everywhere so I finally bought him some boots of his own a couple days ago. He wears them everywhere. His are two sizes too big as well. Not because his feet are wide (they’re not) but because they were sold out of the smaller sizes.

I went to the store yesterday for some stuff (chicken noodle soup and gatorade for my sick kids) and didn’t realize I was out of diapers for Payson. So today I had to go back!
Photobucket

I left the girls at home watching TV while Allan was still asleep in bed. Going shopping with only two kids is crazy easy in comparison to three or four!

Oh this last picture, I was setting the focus on the camera before I took one of us smiling together and accidentally took this picture. But Payson looks so cute in it. I love that he’s not looking at the camera. I don’t know, I just like it of him.
Photobucket

It is only 9:30pm and I’m exhausted

I’m going to just explain pictures and not chat a lot because I worry I’ll talk on and on about nothing interesting. haha

I sensored these breastfeeding pictures. I figure you guys don’t want to see any more of my boobs! haha. But LOVE these pictures so I wanted to share 🙂
She often has her hand down the top of my shirt. She rubs the top of my chest while she drinks.
Photobucket

Speaking of breastfeeding, I’m nursing Ember right now.
Photobucket

After nursing she is pretty happy!

Sierra wore her costume for most of this week.

We played a lot of games with the kids’ candy. We sorted them, graphed them, compared different kinds, made pictures with them… just so much fun with it all. Oh and of course we ate a TON. Seriously we’re all almost barfing from gorging ourselves on candy!
Photobucket

The weather finally, finally cooled down just TODAY. It’s been in the 100s and 90s this entire month and today the high was in the 70s! BLISSSSSSS.
Photobucket

Thank you for this hat, Jordan. I think Ember likes it just as much as Sierra did when she wore it 🙂

The kids played and made messes. Like they do all day every day.
Photobucket

I loved on my baby girl.
Photobucket

I canNOT get enough of this Ember baby. She is the cutest thing on earth and I love every second of being her mom. Even at 2, 3, 4am when she’s kicking me in the face or pinching my breast between her razor sharp little fingernails… love her!
Photobucket

I had my camera and snapped a picture during this random moment the other night and love it so so much. It was all unposed and is so us.
Photobucket

Because Ember falls asleep easily in her swing at night (I know, swing at 13 months?!) and only wakes up when Allan and I come to bed and turn down her white noise CD, we decided to move her into Sierra’s room so that we could leave that CD on full blast if we wanted to.
Photobucket

Sierra is currently sleeping in Payson’s room while we get Ember used to her room. Ember isn’t sleeping much better in Sierra’s room. She’s ended up in my bed every single night. haha
Photobucket

The kids ask me to paint their faces every day since I bought a bunch of face painting kits when they went on sale after Halloween. They’ve had butterflies, fairies, bees and other things on their faces every single day of this week. haha

I also bought a ton of glow sticks on sale.
Photobucket

With the weather finally nice and cool we’ve been outside a lot.

I bought a new sippy cup for Ember. One of a bazillion I’ve bought in hopes of getting her to drink just a bit out of something other than my breasts. lol. I would like to be able to go shopping alone just once in a while and I can’t very well do that if she won’t eat and won’t drink unless I’m there.
Photobucket

The sippy cup leaks like crazy but she did drink two ounces from it. Over the course of an hour :/

We moved a few random shelves out of Sierra’s room since we reorganized it and made it all baby safe. Those shelves are now in the garage but for the few hours they were in the living room I used them as a barricade for the middle two kids. They were playing with blocks and Ember kept destroying their buildings.
Photobucket

The giant mess in these pictures is from a bunch of file folder games I made for the middle kids. That’s all cleaned up now. haha
Photobucket

Sierra was making sentences out of sight word magnets she got from a new school supply store that opened up 20 minutes from our house.

I have a million more pictures (haven’t stopped overshooting!) but am just going to stop now. haha!

It Looks Like an Outfit a Fat Girl Would Wear

“To try to hide the fact that she’s fat. And you’re not a fat girl.”
Was Allan’s reply when I asked him what he thought of my new outfit.

And I said, “Well, I am fat and that’s exactly what I was trying to do!”
Photobucket

I’ve gained fifteen pounds since my gallbladder removal surgery in April. After 8 months of basically starving to death I went on a bit of a binge.
Photobucket

Which is very apparent.
Photobucket

All the new clothes I bought when I was at my lowest weight don’t fit well anymore.
Photobucket

But my fat clothes from when I was at my highest don’t fit either.
(The two dots on my abdomen are gallbladder surgery scars!)
Photobucket

I’m surprisingly incredibly depressed about how fat I look. It’s surprising because I always hated being fat before but it didn’t affect my self confidence as much as it does now.
Photobucket

I’d like not to look like I’m five months pregnant. Because I’m not. And I can’t even say it’s baby weight. Because it’s not. It’s recovering-from-starvation-binge-fest belly. And I really hate it 🙁
Photobucket
I’m wanting to start losing again. I am just soooo tired and overwhelmed with life right now that I can’t imagine planning healthy meals and adding working out. I’ve been getting an average of 5 hours of sleep every night for the past 13 months. I’m just so very tired. I need more chocolate 😛

(I know eating healthy would probably help me feel a little less tired, but when I wake up from a crappy night’s sleep for the 401st night, sugar sounds better.)

You’ll Find Me Amongst the Piles

I printed out three months worth of pictures of my entire family. There are 1100 photos here.
Someone may be a tiny bit of an overshooter.
Photobucket

In my defense there was a lot that happened in August, September and October!
Brooklyn’s birthday.
Brooklyn’s first day of school.
Payson’s doctor visit with xrays, etc.
Trip to Texas for my BIL’s wedding.
Brooklyn’s baptism.
Family get togethers.
Trip to the mountains.
Sierra and Payson’s school pictures.
Several “day in the life” sets of pictures.
Allan’s camping trip.
Ember’s birthday portraits.
Her birthday party.
Homeschool pictures.
First time riding the bus.
Activity days.
More doctor visits.
More family trips.
Hikes.
Walks.
Trip to Utah (100 pictures right there!)

And then all the in between stuff! Wow. November will be a lot calmer and not have so many pictures. Mostly because I’m going to cut back on the snapping!
Photobucket
And because I’m feeling completely shocked that someone can have 1100 pictures from three measly months I feel like I need to justify myself! haha:
6 people… if I took only one picture a day of each person for their album that would be 540 pictures right there! So 1100 simply means on average I printed just about two pictures per person per day. Not a lot at all! Right?

PS: That’s also why I haven’t blogged as much here this week. I desperately want to sit down and write down all that’s going on but I have been consumed with getting my family’s albums started. I want to have all of 2011 caught up on by the time Christmas rolls around!
