The 4th. Brooklyn is a stickler for celebrating her birthday on her birthday. This year despite her begging, grandma and grandpa just couldn’t make it early enough to be reasonable to celebrate it that day. I was expecting Brooklyn to pout and whine quite a bit but thanks to grandma D sending a package early and my promises of making it a game day, she was really happy.
We played Sorry (she wanted to play the not-quite-as-fun one first) and then her very favorite… Life!
She asks me to play this game with her all the time. I try to play games with them once a week. I’d do it more often but Payson and Ember make it miserable for me. I waited for Ember’s nap this day and attempted to have Payson join in by giving him game pieces and cards and spinning the wheel. Basically he thought he was playing and he was happy. For once! haha (Except when Brooklyn was visciously cruel to him the entire game, it was a huge test of my patience to not grab the board and dump everything in the box and go have a piece of candy in my bathroom. lol!)
Ember woke up and I nursed her throughout the middle of the game. She would drink a bit and then pull off and dive back to grab at the board. Finally she was done and I set her down. That was a bad idea for the teething baby.
Like the last many birthdays, we had McDonald’s happy meals for lunch.
Ember got bored so I played peek-a-boo with her while we waited for her siblings to finish. They all take after their dad and take foreeeveeer to eat 😉 (Unlike me, I inhale my food)
Brooklyn was so excited when I told her we were going to visit a different library to see what it was like. She asked me earlier in the week if we could do it on her birthday. I didn’t like the library very much but for some reason she loves it! (I thought it smelled like pee… or just really musty or something!)
Ember got hungry.
I let her play in the front seat with me for a few minutes longer because it was still hot where her carseat was.
We stopped at WalMart mostly because Payson had diarrhea and driving another thirty minutes home while he sat in it seemed cruel. And I don’t think I could stand the smell in the car for that long, either!
We bought a few things. The kids were goofing off like they always do.
I started dinner when we got home. Allan came home eventually and thankfully took Ember for a few minutes. She cried a very lot last week due to her second tooth coming in! My back and arm feel almost numb from the ache of holding her all day and night!
