While we were working on getting the bowl out of the drain Payson was carrying around his current favorite book, The Grouchy Ladybug, and as soon as he saw an opportunity he asked, “Mom, can you read this to me please, mommy?” (He phrases it like this every time)
Payson was really intrigued by Ember’s bed full of toys. He asked if he could go in there with her and though I was inclined to say yes because that seemed so cute, I said no because I know he would just steal her toys and push her around. He loves her but he’s not a good sharer at all!
Sunday Allan’s parents came over to hang out and have dinner. Allan’s dad brought steaks which Allan BBQ’d. I do have pictures of his parents but they like to not be on my blog 😉
We were all sitting at the computer looking at pictures from their recent trip to Switzerland (where my brother-in-law and his family are currently living) and I kept glancing out the window because the sky was stormy gray and awesome. Finally I said, I just have to go outside and take a couple pictures! Allan came with me and I snapped a few.
Here are a couple other pictures of that rainbow. It was so cool to have the sky and environment looking so cool with a rainbow right in the middle of it all. These pictures are SOOC (unedited) except sharpened for web!
I edited this one just slightly to make it look more… dead? Desaturated, depressing? Cool? I don’t know, I kind of like the SOOC versions! haha, but I’m too lazy to go back and resize the SOOC and upload it!
We went inside and looked at some more of my in-laws’ vacation pictures (which I enjoyed, of course) and then I couldn’t resist telling the kids to come outside for a little while because it looked SO COOL! It was SO yellow and… almost alien looking. I’ve never seen the outdoors look so color tinted before living in Arizona.
That night we were watching Lord of the Rings, the Two Towers, and there was this AWESOME lightning storm going on outside. As much as I LOVE The Two Towers I kept watching the storm, too. I didn’t want to go outside to watch because it wasn’t raining and was pretty darn hot! I kept debating grabbing my camera and attempting a lightning picture.
Finally I told Allan I just had to go outside and try to get a picture. He thought it wasn’t a good idea and that I really needed to read up on how to take lightning pictures before I attempted them. I told him that sure you could do that but that it would be more fun to see if I could do it on my own.
Now by the time I finally decided to attempt a picture the lightning storm was basically over. I was SO sad!! It was the BEST lightning storm and I totally missed it! Bummer. There were a few measly slivers of lightning left but that’s it. But next time I’m so playing with my camera early on in the storm!
It’s going to be our last movie because I’m just sick of them. Ember poops at 9:45am on the dot and guess when the movie starts? 9:45! So I have to leave the theater with her and Payson to change her every single stinking time! I leave the girls to save our seats otherwise we sit in the very front row or something! It’s stupid. lol! Not to mention, Ember doesn’t sleep despite it being her naptime, she just grabs at everything around her. Her very favorite of all is to yank stuff out of my diaper bag and toss it on the floor. She LOVES that. She also likes to play with the straws in her siblings’ cups. Oh and today she managed to grab a piece of popcorn from the bag due to a strategic and effective lunge mid-movie. lol. The girl is determined! (She didn’t eat it, of course, I was holding her obviously!)
(Oh guess what, she fell asleep during the last five minutes. That’s nice. Squirmy girl all through the movie and crashed when it’s time to go. At least she’s quiet and happy during the movie! Just wants mommy’s stuff and not the toys and snack I bring her!)
She woke up two seconds after Sierra took that picture because Payson was throwing a major fit. I asked him if he wanted to be in a group picture and he looked at me like I was crazy and shouted no. I told him I was taking a picture of the girls and he could be in it if he wanted. I told him he could make an angry face because he was so mad. He did!
(His fit was over something stupid. Probably about who got to hold the empty cup or something!)
I stopped at Barnes and Noble before heading home to flip through some photoshop books. I got CS5 after using elements for the past 5 years and it doesn’t come with a manual. Plus I’d be interested in learning some more advanced editing techniques. The book I want is $50 so I decided to come home and check ebay instead!
My kids touched every toy in the store and begged for each one. I don’t know how many times I’ve told them to stop asking me for things because they’re not getting anything until Christmas.
So then it’s, “Mom, I want this for Christmas.” over and over.
