Catch Up Blogging

My family is still sick.

I’m not so much liking February and its germy ways.

I’m making a blurb book right now. It’s fun but takes a lot of time.
I’m leaving a couple blank, white pages in the front of the book so that my family can write little notes on them. I’m looking forward to seeing all their handwriting in our family’s “journal.” 🙂

You might hate me right now but I’m putting all the pictures I didn’t blog from the last two weeks into this post. It’s going to be too much. Much too much.

When Payson first got sick he ended up sleeping in until almost 1pm that day! He is usually up the earliest so I was shocked. I kept checking on him. When I opened his door I found him sleeping on the floor. He must have gotten up and played and then fell back to sleep!

Photobucket

Yeah, he has ripped his paper blinds several times. But we just don’t feel like spending a bunch of money on real blinds yet!
Photobucket

Ember had been napping, too. I heard her waking up.
Photobucket

She’s always in a really good mood in the mornings. She’s my little morning girl.
Photobucket

Photobucket

On a different day I got Ember dressed and her shirt kept pulling up all day. I guess she’s outgrown these size 18 months pajamas 😛
Photobucket

These days there is lots of my older girls holding Ember and lots of Ember grabbing at their faces.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Family pictures after dark. We were having a blast playing outside while Payson had already gone to bed for the night.
Photobucket

I finally bought a camera remote so that we don’t have to run back and forth to the camera. Sierra got to try it out.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Then I took some without the flash.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Happy Baby.
Photobucket

Photobucket

I don’t know if it’s possible for a child to be loved any more than Ember is. Every person in this house adores her.
Photobucket

I really love my husband. 8 1/2 years together and it’s better than ever. Which feels so good to say!
Photobucket

Some of the other pictures from the night we had a fire.
Photobucket

It was one of my favorite family nights we’ve EVER had.
Photobucket

This picture is so random but I just love it. Payson had gone into the house to get his sippy cup and he’s got his elephant and binky, which he’s never without. It’s just so cute!! I love that boy.
Photobucket

The two little kids were excited!
Photobucket

When Allan first started the fire Brooklyn and Payson were blowing it.
Photobucket

I can’t remember what Payson was telling me but it was something about the fire.
Photobucket

Photobucket

He was blowing it again.
Photobucket

After the first few minutes I picked Ember up and held her the rest of the time. Actually, I ended up breastfeeding her most of the time.

Photobucket

There’s really nothing better for me than spending time outside with my family 🙂
Photobucket

We were looking at the moon, which was an awesome crescent that night.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Allan brought out the hotdogs!
Photobucket

Payson was so excited. At one point he burst out, “I SO HAPPY!!!” And me and Allan looked at each other with “awww, what an adorable moment” expressions and sappy grins on our faces.
Photobucket

All three of them did a really good job cooking their hotdogs.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

It got dark. Allan cooked my hotdog for me. He always takes such good care of me while I nurse Ember 🙂
Photobucket

Not that I was nursing Ember while I snapped these. He took her for a minute so I could capture just a couple more pictures!
Photobucket

Sierra came out with some funny morning hair. I’m growing her bangs out again so they’re always clipped or twisted up and she looks funny when we take them down.Photobucket

She was the only one awake that morning so we went outside to look at the gorgeous morning light out there. The desert was glowing.
Photobucket

Some point and shoot shots from a lunch at Costco.
Photobucket

Photobucket

It was this pizza stop that gave me that horrible gallbladder attack.
Photobucket

But it sure was good! Especially because the girls got a churro after!
Photobucket

So Ember was having tummy time and Payson ran to get his own blanket. He brought it in and told me he wanted to have “Payson tummy time” so I helped him lay out his blanket. Oh boy was he happy about that!
Photobucket

Brooklyn thought it was awesome, too. At first she sat on his blanket with him.
Photobucket

But then she ran for her blanket. And Sierra saw what was going on and went for hers.
Photobucket

So my four little kids had their tummy time.
Photobucket

Which turned into coloring book time.
Photobucket

Which later turned into school time. (but I didn’t take pictures then)
Photobucket

I have four kids. At 27. Never imagined it happening this way!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Payson was so flipping cute. He asked me to find him an elephant in his coloring book and he was so excited when I did. Him and elephants, so funny.
Photobucket

Photobucket

This was in the afternoon. The weather has been nice and Brooklyn asked to go outside. When I said of course they could she lit up and said, “It’ll be like recess!”
Photobucket

Ember waking up from a nap.
Photobucket

Ember loves her bumbo. I think these things are majorly overpriced but with how much my kids have loved them, I guess they’re worth it.Photobucket

Photobucket

I love it when she goes for toys with her mouth instead of her hands. It’s so funny.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Have I mentioned she is a very happy baby?
Photobucket

She was reaching for the camera. She grabs it whenever I’m holding her and taking pictures of something else.
Photobucket

Photobucket

I don’t remember why I took these, probably just because I think my son is so darn cute.
Photobucket

Photobucket

I was nursing Ember one day when Sierra asked me to take a picture of her lego creation. She was awfully proud of it. She was beaming when I finished feeding Ember and got my camera out.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Which then meant Brooklyn asking me to take a picture of her creations, too.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Ember laying on my closet floor while I talked to Allan who was organizing something in there. lol
Photobucket

Photobucket

I’ve been giving Payson haircuts since he was 2 months old. Allan had commented recently that he wanted to give his son a haircut so I let Payson’s hair get nice and long (which when I say long is probably short to some of you) and then Allan got to work.Photobucket

But first he got a picture taken with his diapered, chunky, baby sister.
Photobucket

Allan gave him a completely different haircut than I do and I liked it. Much more tapering and “boy” cut than my typical faux hawk look.
Photobucket

Payson got a bath and Ember got picked up out of her bouncy chair.
Photobucket

Payson was silly.
Photobucket

I took these pictures to send to my sister, Jeena, because she bought Ember this cute little outfit.
Photobucket

Photobucket
Oh those feet.
Photobucket

Ember looks so pretty in blue that I went out and bought her new light blue pajamas.
Photobucket

I can’t remember what day this was. Probably last Saturday. We were all hanging out outside, as usual on the weekends.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Ember LOVES being outside. She definitely fits into this family!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Mary got her this pink elephant which is so cute because now both my two youngest have toy elephants to love. Payson makes a big deal out of her toy elephant every time she’s playing with it. Though he does try to steal it.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Uh oh, stolen elephant… then I traded him for his own elephant.
Photobucket

Sierra decided to pretend she was pregnant. She is constantly talking about her future kids (she wants 10) and how she’s going to be a good mommy. And I fully believe her. She is going to be the best mommy ever.
Photobucket

Ember’s favorite thing to do in the bumbo is play with her feet. The bumbo puts them within easy reach and she tries to get them into her mouth the whole time.
Photobucket

As with everything, one of my kids does something and they all end up doing it 🙂
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Then Sierra decided they should use the balls to be camels.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Allan took some pictures of me with the kids.
Photobucket

Photobucket
Photobucket

Then we had a BBQ. I love BBQ. I like the food but even more I love watching the cook 😉
Photobucket

Allan soothing Ember while talking to his sister, Laura.
Photobucket

Baby in bouncy chair. I love watching her play with her toys.
Photobucket

Photobucket

I took a couple pictures of the girls doing their spelling work.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Sierra practiced alphabetizing letters.
Photobucket

While Brooklyn held Ember.
Photobucket

I was surprised by how quickly Sierra did it. It was the struggle of all struggles to get Brooklyn to attempt alphabetizing when she was 6.
Photobucket

Since Brooklyn’s used All About Spelling Level One already we didn’t have a check off chart for Sierra. She was so excited when I made her one in photoshop.
Photobucket

Brooklyn practiced alphabetizing words and compared how much easier it was finding something in a book that was alphabetized than one that wasn’t.
Photobucket

Yesterday, Allan got Ember to sleep by bouncing her on his lap.Photobucket

  • Great catch up. I was wondering what you guys were up to this past week. Love the pics of all 4 of them having “tummy time”. So precious. 🙂

  • Yay!!! So many fun pictures to see! It's time for coffee with my hubby and Sunday night shows, but I'll be back when I have time to peruse leisurely and enjoy! 🙂 More comments to come!

  • I love the photos. Its kind of nice to see them all together, to get an idea of the flow of time. Your kids are just darling. I especially loved the jumping shots of the kids at “recess”.

  • Awe sorry the family is sick, we are going through it too. Love the photos! Payson looked so cute sleeping and with his haircut! Ember is getting so big and such a doll 🙂

  • I can't even comment on each individual picture or day because I loved the whole flippin' thing. Sorry you're all still sick…we've actually lucked out this year in that department. Looking at all your pics makes me all the more anxious for my 4th to get here. :c) And holy turds, when did Ember get so BIG?!?!? I swear the last time you posted she was itty bitty and now she seems like a big baby girl!!

  • Aww.. I hope your family get better soon. Ember is so bigger, and so beautiful. She looks like Sierra and Payson. S pregnant are so funny and really cute. I love your family's photos. They are so funny and beautiful together. 🙂

  • Sorry to hear y'all still aren't feeling well.

The tummy time pictures of the 4 kids is so sweet.

I love the interaction between your children. The pretend pregnancy and camel pictures are so cute.

Allan did a great job with Payson's hair 🙂

Ember looks so pretty in brown and polka dots and is getting so big.

Sierra's looks so proud of her All about Spelling boards.

Brooklyn is such a little model, love all the faces she makes.

  • I didn't intend to take so long coming back to this post…and now I don't know where to begin! (Truthfully, I've returned to scroll through the photos a couple more times but have been pulled away from the computer before having a chance to comment.) There are so many cute pictures! Like Melissa, I'll mention a few faves and spare you the 2-page commentary! 🙂

Love all the bonfire pics but especially the profile pic of you and Ember looking at the fire. There's something so sweet about it, and I love your similar expressions.

The 2 photos of Ember under Happy Baby…melt-your-heart cute! I know that smile must just light up your insides…and the 2nd photo is all about the eyes!

It's touching to see the love your kids have for each other…like in the photo of Ember touching Sierra's face or the one of Brooklyn kissing the side of Ember's head. I also like the one of Payson kneeling beside Ember just hanging out with her on the patio. 🙂

Sweet photos of Payson sleeping on his bedroom floor. It's amazing that kids can be so comfortable in those kinds of positions!

Love everything about the photo of Payson sitting in the orange chair with his binky and elephant (one of the side-by-side photos)…adorable squinty-eyed expression, bright, vivid colors, great light…just perfect!

The Costco comedy act…too funny! Your girls seem so cooperative about getting their picture taken. You're able to capture so many great moments and so many sides of their personalities!

Precious photo of Ember in the bathroom in her bouncy seat. You can see Dad's arms and know that she's looking directly at him…Payson in the background in the tub…and everything bathed in sunlight. Lovely.

I enjoyed the homeschool photos, too…and all the rest!

Sorry you're still dealing with sickness at your house. It's been lingering around ours as well. Hope you're all feeling back to normal soon!

Geesh…maybe this ended up being 2 pages after all! 🙂

  • Love the photos you took with the beautiful Arizona desert & sky in the background. What an amazing backyard to look out to everyday. And those pics of Ember, oh my, they make me want another. She is just too precious for words. Love her smile.

  • I can't get over how happy Ember is! Talon was totally like that. Tenley, on the other hand, alternates between yelling at me cuz she's really, truly upset about something or fake drama girl crying and wimpering. And she's not even 6 weeks old yet! It's kind of funny, actually. I think I'm going to have my hands full with this one!
