My family is still sick.
I’m not so much liking February and its germy ways.
I’m making a blurb book right now. It’s fun but takes a lot of time.
I’m leaving a couple blank, white pages in the front of the book so that my family can write little notes on them. I’m looking forward to seeing all their handwriting in our family’s “journal.” 🙂
You might hate me right now but I’m putting all the pictures I didn’t blog from the last two weeks into this post. It’s going to be too much. Much too much.
When Payson first got sick he ended up sleeping in until almost 1pm that day! He is usually up the earliest so I was shocked. I kept checking on him. When I opened his door I found him sleeping on the floor. He must have gotten up and played and then fell back to sleep!
Yeah, he has ripped his paper blinds several times. But we just don’t feel like spending a bunch of money on real blinds yet!
Ember had been napping, too. I heard her waking up.
She’s always in a really good mood in the mornings. She’s my little morning girl.
On a different day I got Ember dressed and her shirt kept pulling up all day. I guess she’s outgrown these size 18 months pajamas 😛
These days there is lots of my older girls holding Ember and lots of Ember grabbing at their faces.
Family pictures after dark. We were having a blast playing outside while Payson had already gone to bed for the night.
I finally bought a camera remote so that we don’t have to run back and forth to the camera. Sierra got to try it out.
Then I took some without the flash.
I don’t know if it’s possible for a child to be loved any more than Ember is. Every person in this house adores her.
I really love my husband. 8 1/2 years together and it’s better than ever. Which feels so good to say!
Some of the other pictures from the night we had a fire.
It was one of my favorite family nights we’ve EVER had.
This picture is so random but I just love it. Payson had gone into the house to get his sippy cup and he’s got his elephant and binky, which he’s never without. It’s just so cute!! I love that boy.
The two little kids were excited!
When Allan first started the fire Brooklyn and Payson were blowing it.
I can’t remember what Payson was telling me but it was something about the fire.
He was blowing it again.
After the first few minutes I picked Ember up and held her the rest of the time. Actually, I ended up breastfeeding her most of the time.
There’s really nothing better for me than spending time outside with my family 🙂
We were looking at the moon, which was an awesome crescent that night.
Allan brought out the hotdogs!
Payson was so excited. At one point he burst out, “I SO HAPPY!!!” And me and Allan looked at each other with “awww, what an adorable moment” expressions and sappy grins on our faces.
All three of them did a really good job cooking their hotdogs.
It got dark. Allan cooked my hotdog for me. He always takes such good care of me while I nurse Ember 🙂
Not that I was nursing Ember while I snapped these. He took her for a minute so I could capture just a couple more pictures!
Sierra came out with some funny morning hair. I’m growing her bangs out again so they’re always clipped or twisted up and she looks funny when we take them down.
She was the only one awake that morning so we went outside to look at the gorgeous morning light out there. The desert was glowing.
Some point and shoot shots from a lunch at Costco.
It was this pizza stop that gave me that horrible gallbladder attack.
But it sure was good! Especially because the girls got a churro after!
So Ember was having tummy time and Payson ran to get his own blanket. He brought it in and told me he wanted to have “Payson tummy time” so I helped him lay out his blanket. Oh boy was he happy about that!
Brooklyn thought it was awesome, too. At first she sat on his blanket with him.
But then she ran for her blanket. And Sierra saw what was going on and went for hers.
So my four little kids had their tummy time.
Which turned into coloring book time.
Which later turned into school time. (but I didn’t take pictures then)
I have four kids. At 27. Never imagined it happening this way!
Payson was so flipping cute. He asked me to find him an elephant in his coloring book and he was so excited when I did. Him and elephants, so funny.
This was in the afternoon. The weather has been nice and Brooklyn asked to go outside. When I said of course they could she lit up and said, “It’ll be like recess!”
Ember waking up from a nap.
Ember loves her bumbo. I think these things are majorly overpriced but with how much my kids have loved them, I guess they’re worth it.
I love it when she goes for toys with her mouth instead of her hands. It’s so funny.
Have I mentioned she is a very happy baby?
She was reaching for the camera. She grabs it whenever I’m holding her and taking pictures of something else.
I don’t remember why I took these, probably just because I think my son is so darn cute.
I was nursing Ember one day when Sierra asked me to take a picture of her lego creation. She was awfully proud of it. She was beaming when I finished feeding Ember and got my camera out.
Which then meant Brooklyn asking me to take a picture of her creations, too.
Ember laying on my closet floor while I talked to Allan who was organizing something in there. lol
I’ve been giving Payson haircuts since he was 2 months old. Allan had commented recently that he wanted to give his son a haircut so I let Payson’s hair get nice and long (which when I say long is probably short to some of you) and then Allan got to work.
But first he got a picture taken with his diapered, chunky, baby sister.
Allan gave him a completely different haircut than I do and I liked it. Much more tapering and “boy” cut than my typical faux hawk look.
Payson got a bath and Ember got picked up out of her bouncy chair.
Payson was silly.
I took these pictures to send to my sister, Jeena, because she bought Ember this cute little outfit.
Oh those feet.
Ember looks so pretty in blue that I went out and bought her new light blue pajamas.
I can’t remember what day this was. Probably last Saturday. We were all hanging out outside, as usual on the weekends.
Ember LOVES being outside. She definitely fits into this family!
Mary got her this pink elephant which is so cute because now both my two youngest have toy elephants to love. Payson makes a big deal out of her toy elephant every time she’s playing with it. Though he does try to steal it.
Uh oh, stolen elephant… then I traded him for his own elephant.
Sierra decided to pretend she was pregnant. She is constantly talking about her future kids (she wants 10) and how she’s going to be a good mommy. And I fully believe her. She is going to be the best mommy ever.
Ember’s favorite thing to do in the bumbo is play with her feet. The bumbo puts them within easy reach and she tries to get them into her mouth the whole time.
As with everything, one of my kids does something and they all end up doing it 🙂
Then Sierra decided they should use the balls to be camels.
Allan took some pictures of me with the kids.
Then we had a BBQ. I love BBQ. I like the food but even more I love watching the cook 😉
Allan soothing Ember while talking to his sister, Laura.
Baby in bouncy chair. I love watching her play with her toys.
I took a couple pictures of the girls doing their spelling work.
Sierra practiced alphabetizing letters.
While Brooklyn held Ember.
I was surprised by how quickly Sierra did it. It was the struggle of all struggles to get Brooklyn to attempt alphabetizing when she was 6.
Since Brooklyn’s used All About Spelling Level One already we didn’t have a check off chart for Sierra. She was so excited when I made her one in photoshop.
Brooklyn practiced alphabetizing words and compared how much easier it was finding something in a book that was alphabetized than one that wasn’t.
Yesterday, Allan got Ember to sleep by bouncing her on his lap.
