We have a tree on the other side of the fence in our backyard. A couple weeks ago Brooklyn was having her stuffed tiger “climb” the tree and she accidently dropped it.
I was holding Ember and didn’t feel like jumping over the fence so I told her daddy would get it when he got back from South America.
The next day we were all playing outside again and Brooklyn noticed her tiger had moved from by the fence where it dropped to about fifteen feet away! We wondered what in the world moved it there.
A couple days ago Allan jumped the fence to go get tiger.
BUT… tiger was gone!! Allan went to the last place the tiger was seen and found a bunch of little white beads.
When he told us that Brooklyn started crying really hard because, “tiger was filled with those beads!” and she knew he was either eaten or really torn up 🙁
We’d seen javelina poop right there as well so we figured there might not be much left of poor tiger.
But Allan kept looking, and we all kept hoping that what was left of tiger was salvagable.
A few minutes into the search Allan noticed something deep in one of the bushes…
What is he holding?
It’s tiger!
Realizing he was pretty badly beaten.
Not knowing what to think about her ripped up tiger.
At this point, seeing how dirty and ripped up he was, she didn’t want to see him or hold him and boy did she cry! I obviously didn’t take pictures of that part but we eventually calmed her down when I told her I’d wash him and sew him up and he’d be ok.
The damage:
That night I washed tiger and did my best to patch him up. I completely replaced his stuffing and beads and at the end he looked decent.
And Brooklyn thought…
He might be deformed now but he’s just as lovable 🙂
And that he really needed a candy cane.
Great story! The poor tiger all alone in the wild and then beat up by a pig! 😉 That is great Allan kept on looking. I think I would've given up myself. You really did a good job of fixing him up.
This was sooo sweet!
Awww. What a cute story. Poor Brooklyn. So glad she got him back though.
Great story! Thanks for the link, I had no idea those animals lived in the US.
she also learned about patience, glory, sadness, healing and mostly the LOVE of a mommy & daddy! good for you for putting her heart above all you have to do each day to make her happy! she will remember that forever now!
We have some of these animals in the forest near our village here in Spain. Poor tiger!! But the end of the story is so nice. Those stuffed friends are really importants for our children!!
Happy Christmas!
