Bye Earrings

Poor Brooklyn got her earrings taken out today. We’re going to let the holes grow back in πŸ™
Her ears kept getting infected (her right one in particular) no matter how well we took care of them so I made the decision to just let them go. She was relieved to have them gone because she absolutely hates it when I clean them out no matter how fast I do it.
In the middle picture she was showing how she cried during the cleaning out process earlier in the day.

You Know What’s Awesome?

Peeing in the shower.

Getting to skip the crossed legged, squirming, pulling down pants part; the whole wiping and then pulling up the pants and straightening the belly panel part; the hand washing part.

None of that crap. Just relaxing and letting go.
Today in my shower I forgot to shave the back of my left leg. That’s totally ok though because the front is smooth.
And I’m in my third trimester.

Is it wrong to blame everything on my ginormous 28-week-along belly?

Heck no! This thing is always getting in the way and slowing me down! Totally legit excuse for almost everything I ever do wrong these days!

My Gosh I Want to Stay Home!

108 today. Yuck.

Sierra had a dentist appointment this morning to get a cavity filled. Since Payson likes to scream hysterically during dentist appointments Allan stayed home with him and Brooklyn while Sierra and I headed out.

I had an OBGYN appointment in the afternoon. I scheduled the dentist appointment and OB appointment for the same day since I needed to get another ultrasound and Payson likes to scream hysterically during those too. Not having Payson and Brooklyn there made the appointments easy.

The heat of the summer is really starting to get to me. I don’t know how in the world I’m going to handle the next two months as it stays hot, gets a bit hotter, and I get bigger! Ugh.

Sierra was an angel at the dentist. If you ever want to know everything about Sierra simply close your eyes and imagine up the most perfect child you can think of. That’s Sierra.

She has her little quirks (super messy eater, wakes up at the crack of dawn, walks on her toes which makes her clumsy, can’t stand water that is warmer than room temperature, etc) but really those are not problems at all. She’s such a sweet, easy going, smart, happy, friendly, sensitive, loving little girl!

After the dentist I took her to Wendy’s for a frosty since that’s what my mom did for me when I was little πŸ™‚

We stopped at Target after that because I needed to kill an hour of time before my appointment. We got her a new toothbrush and we spent quite a while looking at books. We bought some stuff, more crayons (yikes) and some sticker books and draw erase books for the now every 2 weeks OBGYN appointments!!

I’m really not happy about the doctor appointments being so often. I do NOT want to leave my house more than absolutely necessary. I felt SO moody today out in that heat!

Oh well.

The OBGYN appointment went well. I had to have an ultrasound because baby girl was in a weird position last time and they couldn’t see all four chambers of her heart. They saw them all this time.
Baby girl is still measuring exactly on with the pregnancy dates. 28 weeks and 2 days. She looked SO much bigger than last time I got a peek! They decided to check her gender again today just to make sure and it was hard because her foot was right in front of her privates. But eventually there was a clean shot and I now have a printed closeup of my baby’s peepee! lol. And yes, still a girl!

The baby’s other foot was up by her face! Funny.

I’ve gained 7 pounds this pregnancy.
I have my glucose test in two weeks.
Um, that’s about it for the pregnancy update! ha

I got home with Sierra around 3:30pm and went straight into the afternoon rush. Payson got really cranky, I did some school stuff with the girls, I made dinner, Allan left for scouts (he volunteers with the Boyscouts through our church), I read stories, brushed teeth, and did the bedtime thing.

Um, that’s it! I’m going to go take a much needed shower and drink as much water as my stomach will hold and then lay on the couch for the rest of the night! lol

I just reread this and boy is it a jumbled mess! Sorry, I mentioned I’m hot and tired, right??

Date Night!

Allan’s parents got back from hiking in Colorado and came right over to our house to watch the kids for us while we went out for a date!
We had a really good time! We shared a burger at Chili’s and then went and saw Eclipse. We both liked the movie a lot πŸ™‚

Birthday Presents!

Allan and I talked with Brooklyn and decided that this year we were going to do the presents part of Brooklyn’s birthday a month early. The reason being is that she is bored out of her mind stuck inside all day and having a bunch of games and stuff a month earlier seemed like an awesome idea.

We’re even considering doing one giant presents day at the beginning of next summer for all three kids. On their real birthdays we’ll do cake and ice cream and balloons and go somewhere they choose (like camping or Chuck E Cheese or bowling or something). Who knows… the kids like that idea so far.

Brooklyn had a blast opening her presents. I didn’t get a chance to take any pictures during because that girl is FAST at ripping paper! lol
I did set up the video camera and got it all that way, though.

Brooklyn mostly got games and books and things to do. I’ll probably get her one more toy on her real birthday next month. Oddly enough she REALLY wants another My Little Pony playset πŸ˜›
She really loves the Frog and Toad books. She read all of her new books (about 12?) within a half hour πŸ˜€

Allan got her some snowboarding pants and gloves. We still need to get her a jacket but we have plenty of time until the winter!
She LOVES her new gear. She’s going snowboarding with Allan for the first time this year and can’t wait!

Yesterday evening just as I was about to start dinner I heard the pattering of rain outside my window. I jumped up and ran to the window to see if it could really be true. Is it really raining??

And it was! And I squealed and all three kids looked at me and Brooklyn called out, “What is it?!” And I said, “It’s raining! It’s raining!” And the girls jumped up and sprinted for their shoes and Payson jumped up and looked from face to face like, “What the heck is going on!??! It looks exciting!!”

And I said, “Payson, want to go outside??” And he ran for his shoes screaming happily along the way, “Outside!! Shoes! Shoes! Outside!!”

And we ran out the door and the girls went straight for the wet street and Payson ran a few feet and then stopped suddenly and squinted his eyes and looked around… trying to figure out if there was a hose being sprayed at him. He looked at his sisters to me and then back at his sisters. Seeing them sprinting around, screeching with happiness he abandoned trying to figure anything out and ran for the puddles.

Being outside in the pouring rain with super warm temperatures is such a neat experience!

I snapped a couple quick pictures and then put my camera in the house and ran around with the kids.

After getting completely soaked for twenty minutes or so I went in for Brooklyn’s umbrella and came out to take some more pictures because my gosh the kids playing in the rain is the coolest thing ever!

The street water drained right into the desert. The kids had a blast letting their toys float down the temporary river. Sierra ended up losing her toy but she didn’t even care because the half hour they’d spent playing the game was worth it. lol

Payson had eaten a chocolate snack bar before playing in the rain and when we eventually went inside I noticed that his previously dirty face (shown below) was clean!

I decided to put my camera away but took these last few pictures of all three kids together first.

Rain, rain, don’t ever go away!
