Oh Baby

Thanks for all the congrats, guys. I initially wanted to wait until the birth to find out the gender but knowing right now and being able to plan and call baby by name is so much fun.

Up until the ultrasound Brooklyn had been really hoping for a girl and Sierra wanted a boy so that “Payson could get a brother,” awwww. But when finding out it was a sister she was thrilled.

And Brooklyn, Brooklyn could barely contain her excitement. The only thing that got her mind off it was the lollipop she got. ha

Payson is oblivious to the fact that there is a baby coming. I don’t know if he’ll even grasp the idea before she’s born! What a shock it’ll be to him in October!

I did keep the tags on all of those clothes and the receipts were tucked away safely in my purse. I just couldn’t pass up the sales!! We had only three baby girl outfits so we were (are) definitely needing to build up a wardrobe. (Fun!)

We do have some girl names picked out. We’ve been calling the baby Ember for quite some time but I’m not entirely sure we’ll use it!

My current favorite names are:
Anya (this one is in the top two right now)
Adelaide (my favorite but not Allan’s)
Jeena (after my sister)

Some others I like but we probably won’t use:
Briana (Allan’s favorite, but I don’t like it because it’s similar sounding to Ariana)

But more than likely it’ll be Ember Anya. That’s what she’s been called for four months ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Nice list i quite like them all, Aspen is probably my fav havent heard it too often, it does goes with your other kids names as emily said.

  • Yay for baby girl!!!! (Can you tell I am still excited… it's not like we're real life friends or anything BUT I can't help it!!!) And I completely agree… in reading your list Aspen stood out to me… and then I read the previous comments. Haha.

  • Awww! A baby girl!!:)
Congrats to you, Alan & the kids!
I like some of the names you picked out… Ember, Aspen, Ivy, Lilah…
Make sure to try them out with your last name. I think that's quite important too!

  • I really like Ember! Interesting that Allan doesn't like Briana b/c it's too close to your name, since I think Anya is pretty close to your name, too. Ivy was on my list when I was in high school.

Aspen has been my number one baby girl name since before I knew Talon was a boy. It's still on my list this time around. Everything went well yesterday. I might be destined for another boy… the Chinese calendar pegged Talon and Evan as boys, and it says this one is a boy, too! There may be no cute pink outfits in my future.

You and I seem to have similar taste in names. I am at a loss for another boy name, so I might have to hit you up in a few months!

  • Love Ember ๐Ÿ™‚ And, loved Rainier too!

I had chose Aspen as my number one choice for my daughter, Holly…. obviously I did not win that one. It is however her middle name ๐Ÿ™‚ So, I am very partial to Aspen!

  • Just a thought – The other girls start with 'B' – don't you think she might feel 'odd man out' without her's starting with 'B'? I had a friend who did that and her last had a different first initial and she DID feel funny – but I guess it's how you handle it. I do like the name Ember but I also like Brianna! Or you could just call her 'Brie'……..

  • A belated congrats! (I've been very sick and haven't been doing anything!) My thoughts on names– I know a woman named BreAnna who named her daughter Adelaide. She goes by Bre and her daughter is Addy to everyone. I like all the names you guys have on your list though. I have never been too into the idea of sticking with a pattern just for sticking with a pattern, so although Aspen might go with what you've got going, I feel like you've got to name her whatever is most appropriate for her, as an individual. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Congrats on another girl! My 3 girls are so much fun! I love the name Ember and Aspen! My friend from jr. high/high school's daughter is named Briar, what do you think of that one?

  • I love Adelaide that name is really pretty and goes well with the rest of your kids names ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I LOOOOOVE the name Ember ๐Ÿ™‚ and think it goes beautifully with the other kids names. I also like Ayla. Have fun choosing ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

  • I liked the name Adelaide in some form for both my girls (they ended up as Natalie & Emma though, lol)….its the name of the city that I'm originally from in Australia! Love that it would probably be shortened to Addy ๐Ÿ™‚ Congratulations on your soon-to-be little pink bundle!

  • Yay for another girl!!
I love the name Ember Anya. Very pretty and unique. I have a friend who has a little girl named Adelaide. They call her Addie. So cute too!
