Looking Forward to Fall

Summer in Arizona means being stuck inside. With temperatures far over 100 degrees we can’t exactly go for a walk or go to the park or… well… go outside. At all.

So yesterday when storm clouds rolled in, blocking the blazing sun for a couple hours, we went outside to play.

And I actually got a group shot I like. Even though Payson’s looking away.

I let the kids wander around our cul-de-sac. They were ecstatic with the space and freedom to run wild.

The girls were being so cute with Payson. Playing follow the leader, peek-a-boo and hide and seek.

Payson took full advantage of the freedom. He walked and walked and ran and ran. All three kids were beat red when it was finally time to go inside.

I took some portraits while we were out, too.

  • These are GREAT shots of the kids!! Brooklyn's hair is getting SO long!! It's so pretty! All of them are so adorable! I love the pics you post of them playing together 😉 soooooo cute! 🙂

  • I really really LOVE this post. I have so many favorite shots I wouldn't know where to begin. Looks like you guys had a fun day outside. We are ready for fall as well. The humidity is killing us.

  • We had the same issues with Houston NOT fun. Even now he still has issues but it has gotten better.

Rice Dream is one of the better options for sure!

You can get a thing to make rice milk….have you looked into those? They are pricey but hey so is rice milk…so in my mind they are worth it.

  • If the rice milk doesn't work out, try “Almond Breeze” brand almond milk. I grew up on rice milk (thin, has a yucky after taste, doesn't work well for cooking), switched to soy milk (pretty good, but messed with my hormones), and finally found almond milk (Excellent taste, creamy consistency and easy to cook with). I like unsweetened (best for cooking, works great in mac and cheese or anything else) and my boys like original (sweetened-but doesn't taste as good to me).

    Good luck! 🙂

  • One thing to consider about the rice/soy/almond milk makers: They are great except for the fact that there is no way (that I have found) to add calcium and other vitamins and minerals. I have tried but it was disgusting.

For me, that's the point of “milk”. Otherwise, I would drink water and eat almonds and rice which do have some nutrients, but nowhere near the equivalent of milk or enriched non-dairy beverages.
