I know I’ve mentioned more than once that I LOVE blueberries, so it only makes sense that I’d do a berry version of green smoothies.
And then blog about it. Of course.
The key ingredients:
LOTS of berries (raspberry, blueberry, strawberry)
1-2 cups yogurt (2 cups makes it reeeeally runny)
1-2 cups spinach (or other green leafy veggies)
sprinkling of sugar (because we were out of honey AND it saved me the trouble of making Payson a seperate batch)
I piled on the spinach today. It was more like 4 cups!
The berries did a fantastic job of keeping a nice appealing color.
And the girls LOVED it. Brooklyn took a sip and asked, “what is this?! Is this that smoothie? With the green stuff???”
She was surprised that it tasted so dang good even with aaaaaall that nasty spinach.
I used the last little bit of smoothie to make some smoothie popsicles. My friend, Tammy, gave me this idea in a comment she left on my last green smoothie post. My kids are going to love it, I can tell already by the smiles that spread across their faces as I pulled out the popsicle molds.
