In which we do very normal things

This post is kinda journal style.

In the morning Allan went fishing while me and the kids stayed home. We did some school stuff right after waking up.

I have little “stations” set up around the school room for Payson to get into while the girls work. Here he is at his book station. He’s playing with some bath toys I bought at the dollar store- my kids all LOVE bath toys.

The girls were coloring an Arizona state flag picture.

Yummy frog.

After learning some stuff about Arizona we headed to the kitchen for breakfast. We had eggs, peaches, and oatmeal with honey and milk. YUM.

At this point Sierra had been so cranky (they were up late the night before) that I had her take a nap on the couch.

Brooklyn was really wanting Sierra to wake up and play with her.

But Sierra was out cold. In such a deep sleep that she peed on the couch.
Lovely.

After Sierra got a bath, the girls played and I cleaned.

Allan got home from the lake and we all ate.
Lunch was some lentil soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

After lunch it was time for errands.
First stop- recycling.

Allan’s really liking how green we’re becoming. We still have a long way to go.

Next we went to Sprouts Farmer’s Market, but I didn’t take any pictures there.
After Sprouts was Home Depot, where Allan and the girls were in a hurry.

Why are you running from me, family?

Family??

In this part of the garden section they had misters. Misters are awesome.

Misters make Sierra very happy.

Payson was on his way to play with the girls when he spotted something.

Leaves!! A second after the next picture was snapped Payson’s binky fell straight out of his mouth to make room for the delicious treat.

Meanwhile the girls are still enjoying the misters.

Hey Home Depot, are you sure just water is coming out of those things??

I snapped a couple pictures of Allan in the parking lot.

Because I adore him.

And he took a couple of me and Payson.

Because he adores me. Well, actually… because I asked him to.

And I am totally cracking up! lol!!

I love taking the normal things pictures, they always turn out to be my favorite ones down the road!

  • I didn't know Payson still used a binkie…how did I not notice that? lol Emmy used to have that exact same one that he's using in these pics. It was always my favorite.
Sierra's expressions totally had me cracking up, and the way you “zoomed in” on her was classic. Someday she's going to really love you for that! ;c)
We've been doing all sorts of recycling since we moved out of our apartment, mainly because we have ROOM to do it. I feel so good about myself after we dump all those pop cans and milk jugs off every so often. We're not very “green” compared to most people, but recycling is a big deal to us. Maybe we could do a buddy-blog-post sometime about recycling? That could be fun…
Anyway, I'm trying to get ready for Hudson's party today. Celebrating with Grandpas and Grandmas, and then we're walking thru another house. Woot! NOT!
Hope you guys are having a great weekend.

  • I just love your family! and I love these posts about your day! Those pics of Sierra in the misters were cracking me up!! Those expressions were so cute and funny! πŸ˜‰ She was EXCITED! πŸ™‚ I love the pics of you and Payson at the end….especially the very last picture!! So so so so sweet! Have you thought any more about doing that photo a day with all the kids for a month of something? As if I need more projects…but I really wanted to try that one! I probably won't do it every day, but I want to try! Oh and about my book of family pics…I really slacked on doing those about 1/2 way through the project. Now I only take like one family picture a month or something! I *need* to start trying that again! EVERY WEEK! πŸ˜‰ Anyway, I'm rambling! The main thing I wanted to say was I liked this post alot!! πŸ™‚

  • LMAO – I love you when you do posts journal style…they totally crack me up! Especially where you do the zoom of Sierra's face. That's hilarious. Looks like the kids had a lot of fun!

  • cute post and I'm with everyone else on those pictures of Sierra…totally hysterical! I've been thinking about doing another day in our life picture challenge. Last time was a week but I think a weekend might be pretty fun. It's always nice to go back and see what life was like on a regular basis.
