Little Things

Watching a frog on our porch after waving goodbye to daddy.

Morning snack of apples and bananas.

Watching a movie we got from the library
This morning when I went in to get Brooklyn she was playing with her littlest petshop animals. She excitedly told me, “everyone’s at Bryce’s blessing!” and continued to point out each family member. Two puppies at the front were Kevin and Bryce.
Sierra pipes in: “and there’s Daniel!” pointing to one of the animals (a turtle).
It was just funny to me.

Payson’s movements are definitely jabs now. I can see all the kicks when I watch my belly. Last night Allan laid on the floor with me and felt Payson kicking away like crazy. They were the strongest kicks he’s done yet and Allan had a huge grin on his face. It was so fun.

Bryce’s Blessing Day

Bryce was blessed in church today. It was so sweet.
I took pictures at Jenna’s house. There are a lot!

First, though, for family in other states I’ll tell a little bit about the day. (Scroll down to the pictures if you don’t want to hear all the details)

All of the families here went to Kevin and Jenna’s ward for Bryce’s blessing.
Don, Mary and their 3 kids
Allan, me and our 2 girls
Kevin, Jenna and their 2 boys
Daniel, Janet and their son
We were quite the group, lol.

When it came time to bless Bryce it was so special watching the 4 brothers walk up to the stand together.

It was really sweet hearing the blessing Kevin gave Bryce. The spirit was really strong. It was really needed on my part and I’m very thankful to Kevin and Jenna for having such a special day and allowing us to be a part of it.

Bryce was so good during the blessing. He is one of the happiest, smiliest babies I’ve ever met. Kevin did a little wave to the congregation with Bryce’s hand afterward while Bryce sat in his arms happily watching everything that was going on.

It was a really beautiful testimony meeting, also. So many of the testimonies shared were touching. Jenna went up near the end of the meeting to bear her testimony. I don’t want to share too much of her testimony because I think it’s personal, but it was one of the most touching testimonies of the meeting.
Allan and I both teared up and were very thankful to listen to what she said. I’m so glad she joined the family a couple years ago. I’m really happy to get to watch her and Kevin start and raise their family together.

And now the pictures 🙂

Bryce with his mommy, Jenna.

Carter loves having his picture taken. He just gives out the cutest, most natural smiles.

Sierra attaches herself to Allan when he’s home and won’t let go!

She’s such a daddy’s girl.

Barnes and Noble

Went to the bookstore to get a couple books for Homeschool.
I haven’t been to Barnes and Noble here with the kids and they LOVED it. Sierra thought the train table was the best thing ever.

Look at Brooklyn’s socks. She insists on picking them out herself and she almost always puts them on upside down so the heel part shows through her shoes.

Edited post to add:
I had a commenter say “didn’t you decide not to homeschool” (that’s not the direct quote, lol).

You’re totally right. I was planning on sending Brooklyn to school this August. I then got out of the first trimester and realized that when I’m “normal” (read: not pregnant) homeschooling is what I want to do.

I told Allan that if we have lots of kids and I have to homeschool through pregnancy it wouldn’t be possible because I can’t handle it, but since we’re seriously thinking this will be our last baby I’m not worried about that anymore.

I also decided that I’m going with a packaged curriculum (Sonlight) that puts everything together for me so that I don’t have to do all the work finding books and materials.

The Little Joys of Having Children

Yesterday morning while doing Brooklyn’s hair I noticed a bald spot with the surrounding hair covered in some thick glue-like substance.
I asked her what it was and she said it was “daddy’s hair stuff”. She’d tried to get it out and ended up ripping out a handful of hair in the process.

Today we finally found out what it was in her hair. It was my eyelash glue. I have fake eyelashes that I wear almost never and she found the glue for them and thought it was for hair.

As if that’s not fun enough, today in the (literally) 15 seconds that Sierra was out of her diaper (wrapped in a towel) after bathtime she crapped on the floor. I don’t think I’ve had a poo mess to deal with in over two years so I was pretty upset about it. Luckily she is over her diarrhea and back to normal poo so it was super easy to clean up. Still not fun when you’re dealing with an extreme gag reflex during pregnancy.

It would be nice to have a break…you know, a REAL weekend without work, but that never happens.
